Quasimorph – Beginners Tips and Tricks

I have some hours in the game myself, I figured I’d give some tips for beginners.

Tips and Tricks

  • Moving while crouched saves on calories, running burns calories faster.
  • Wear armor with at least some fire resistance. Impactor armor is a great early-to-mid game armor.
  • You can amputate cyborgs for computer parts.
  • After you get the hang of combat, calorie management will become a hurdle.
  • Raw meat should only be eaten in desperation because it has chance of infection.
  • If you have a flamethrower/thermal grenade/you’re near an explosive barrel and need to eat raw meat, drop raw meat on the ground and shoot/throw/rupture the barrel near it. After the fire dissipates, the raw meat will be cooked – no chance of infection and better calorie gain.
  • Try to avoid defense missions unless you have a turret or two; never try a defense mission without turrets unless you have good gear and tons of ammo.
  • Look at what type of wound you have in the health menu when healing: bandages are best used for pierce wounds, splints are best for fractures, medical glue is good for burns and frostbite (and everything else, really).
  • Infection/Poison increases by percentages until you reach 100%, where you are then considered fully infected/poisoned. Take antibiotics at any time to remove infection (even when fully infected), use sorbent at up to 20% infection rate to remove infection (or else it’ll only remove 20% from the infection meter) and at up to 40% poisoning to remove poison. Antidote removes poison completely.
  • Only use morphine when you desperately need to drop quasimorph level or you are near death; it has an addiction chance that will act like infection does when you are addicted. Only an antidote or health station cures it, or another morphine shot resets the counter: all of these items are rare to find.
  • Try to avoid fighting the Tezcltan; their cold-based weapons are a real *** to fight against at any level.
  • If you DO fight Tezcltan, use a sniper character to keep your distance.
  • 9mm and fire do *** to cyborgs: shotguns or 7.62 rounds are preferred.
  • Melee is only viable in specific builds, but can be absurdly strong and resource-efficient.
  • Weapon parts can repair weapon durability, but doing so lowers your max durability.
  • All equipment is repaired automatically when you finish a mission.
  • Never use the flamethrower or buzzsaw gun. They are terrible to use and often leads to your own demise.
  • Okay I just lied; you CAN use the flamethrower, but ONLY as Percy with the Phoenix class.
  • Tunnel Rats and Scouts of Hades are the best classes. Eclipse Blades and Phoenix Brigade are situational. Rest are forgettable (IMO).
  • Dont stash your arsenal in first tab of Cargo. Mission rewards go there and if you didnt use Sort after taking gear for mission good luck finding new stuff in heaps of everything.
  • Tunnel rat class has skill that levels on getting infected. Infection from eating raw meat Dont count.
  • The new Mines are also triggered not just if stepped on, but if you walk within 1 tile, so careful if you place near a door thinking you can just walk on by.
