Quasimorph – Melee Basic Guide

Melee Guide to Basics

The Basics Explained

Melee is very risky in my experience. If I’m not playing as the chick who gets extra melee damage, I usually find it more worthwhile to just burst fire someone at point blank rather than risk 2 misses and a low damage hit only to get torn apart next turn.

You can stack bonuses and use better melee weapons to pretty much one shot most enemies in melee though. Kind of feel like you either go all in with melee, or you are better off just throwing them.

You need the chick who doesn’t get infections, and you take the class with perks that boost melee damage. Even then it’s probably not worth it to rush into melee around 50% of the time and instead try to wait until you can move forward with sprint and get 2 melee attacks off. There’s also going to still be some enemies that aren’t worth engaging in melee because they are too dangerous to get close to.

Tips and Tricks

  • Use sword type weapons, they have multi-hit that hits 3 times per action, that means on normal stance you can hit for 6 times per turn, or 9 times per turn in running stance. Though it has accuracy penalties but you’ll see that it won’t be a problem.
  • Against melee enemies, let them come to you, you can see how many actions each enemy has by right clicking on them.
  • If they have one action, they can only move or attack but not both, you can then position yourself one square away and wait for them to be adjacent then hack away. If they are not dead, move back one square and they’ll be adjacent to you again. you can repeat the process.
  • If they have two actions, they can move twice, attack twice, or move once and attack once. You can then position yourself two squares away and wait for them to be adjacent. Use running stance so you can attack once and move away two squares.
  • Against multiple melee enemies, use doorways to funnel them to force a one on one fight.
  • The robots are weak against cut damage which is most melee weapons and normal shotgun shells.
