Trading Explained
Well, trading is useful for getting stuff you have urgent need of for the moment – weapons, armor, arrows and food, primarily, but also stuff you need and could craft but do not have the resources or upgrades to craft or could craft but are in a hurry to get such as iron bars or bricks. It can also be a way of saving resources – why waste a bunch of materials on crafting something specifically when you can simply trade for it?
Not to mention… Valuables have no use other than being traded away, so if you have some in your stash (and you probably will because I recall at least one or two of the scenarios has you start out with one in your stash), they’ll just be uselessly sitting there.
As for some other tips regarding trade:
- If you can, make sure to trade with one of the characters that gets a bonus to trading, meaning Kimbra, Rena or Hugon.
- Trade for what you need while trading away what you do not need. Exactly what this is depends on the early, middle and late part of the game – and the scenario, to some extent. However, as said above, valuables have no other ******* in the game than being traded away, so they are best used for this specific purpose. Late game especially, you may also find yourself having a bit of a surplus of certain stuff, so trading ’em away for stuff you have more use for is a good idea.
