Vessel Achievements

Slay the Princess has a very non-linear narrative, so many of the achievements can be unlocked through different routes. I’ve only detailed one route per achievement, for simplicity’s sake.

A Loving Vessel

Bring the Damsel to Her to unlock this achievement.

  • Chapter 1 – Enter the basement without the knife and tell the Princess you want to save her. When the Narrator throws the knife, use it to free her.
  • Chapter 2 – Enter the basement without the knife and rescue the Damsel.

An Idealized Vessel

Bring the Deconstructed Damsel to Her to unlock this achievement.

  • Chapter 1 – Enter the basement without the knife and tell the Princess you want to save her. When the Narrator throws the knife, use it to free her.
  • Chapter 2 – Enter the basement without the knife and rescue the Damsel. Continue asking about her happiness.

Bring the Spectre to Her to unlock this achievement.

  • Chapter 1 – Enter the basement with the knife. Slay the Princess without discussion or hesitation.
  • Chapter 2 – Allow the Spectre to possess you.

A Thorny Vessel

Bring the Thorn to Her to unlock this achievement.

  • Chapter 1 – Enter the basement without the knife and lie to her. When the Narrator throws the knife into the basement, use it to kill her.
  • Chapter 2 – Enter the basement with the knife. Give it to the Witch.
  • Chapter 3 – Attempt to leave the basement without the Thorn.

A Wordless Vessel

Bring the Den to Her to unlock this achievement.

  • Chapter 2 – Enter the basement with the knife. Move and chat until you can defensively strike.
  • Chapter 3 – Enter the basement with or without the knife. Walk into the shadows.

A Seething Vessel

Bring the Wraith to Her to unlock this achievement.

  • Chapter 1 – Enter the basement without the knife but go back for it. Once the Princess is free, lock her inside.
  • Chapter 2 – Enter the basement with the knife. Leave the basement with Nightmare, then slay her. Fall forever.
  • Chapter 3 – Free the Wraith.

A Guarded Vessel

Bring the Prisoner to Her to unlock this achievement.

  • Chapter 1 – Enter the basement with the knife but drop it when the Princess asks you to. Asker her about ending the world and tell her you believe her. Save her.
  • Chapter 2 – Sit with the Prisoner and inspect the extra shackle.

A Gratuitous Vessel

Bring the Prisoner’s Head to Her to unlock this achievement.

  • Chapter 1 – Enter the basement with the knife but drop it when the Princess asks you to. Asker her about ending the world and tell her you believe her. Save her.
  • Chapter 2 – Sit with the Prisoner ang give her your knife. Take her head when you leave the cabin.

A Burning Vessel

Bring the Burning Grey to Her to unlock this achievement.

  1. Could I ask for help or clarification on getting “Past the Point of No Return”? I’ve tried multiple different vessels before bee-lining to kill her and not inspect her body, and nothing is enabling the achievement

    • Okay so I found how to get the “Past the Point of No Return” achievement, after not investigating her body, I accepted the Narrator’s gift and got the “The Good Ending”, the princess said “You have already committed to my completion, you can not go further astray.” and that got me the achievement.

  2. How do you get the Ahab achievement? There doesn’t seem to be any option to Slay the Beast princess, regardless of picking the “in chain” option.

  3. To get “acceptance” and “Just as you were once nothing” you must earn them though the same save. My best advice is to start a new save complete one WHOLE Vessel to the Long and Quiet, then proceed to refuse to enter the cabin Six times in a row, You will get the choices not to enter the Cabin in either Chapter 1 or 2.

  4. The Fury can also be brought to the Stranger as a result of the Adversary Route. Repeatedly attacking the Adversary while unarmed will take you to the Fury Route.

  5. For the life of me I can’t get the “a feral vessel” achievement. Is there a bug, or am I just missing a step?

  6. I can’t get the Denial achievement. Every time I try to leave, she says “You have already committed to my completion. You cannot go further astray.” and then there are no more options to avoid the cabin.
