Comprehensive Guide to Chapter Missions
In this guide, we will cover the Chapter Missions feature. This feature is a way to introduce players to the basic concepts of the game and to gain an understanding of the core principles of State of Survival.
After doing the basic tutorial, you’re introduced to the feature below:
In every chapter, there will be a few simple tasks that need to be done, and in turn, the player is rewarded with Resources. A button will direct them to each task or to claim the rewards.
When all of the missions in a chapter are completed, the button to claim the chapter rewards will go green, and the player will be allowed to claim the chapter rewards and move on to the next chapter.
In some cases, there are tasks for which the player will need to wait until the State is old enough to finish, such as killing certain levels of Infected.
While the feature is pretty simple, there are multiple ways of proceeding and using it in multiple situations; we’ll cover those with a few tips and tricks for every scenario.
This will make it easier for players wanting to use this guide as a quick reference and learn some tips for optimal use of the feature.
First Time Players
For first time players, this feature is pretty simple. All you have to do is follow the chapter instructions and understand the basic mechanics. Each chapter covers a few areas, a few are cited below:
- Building
- Exploration
- Military Marches
- Training
- Intel
- Research
- Infected
Your goal as a first-time player, is to try and use the Chapter Missions as a way to test and learn about these mechanics as they will be used in the future; missions like killing Infected of a certain level are time-gated, and require the players to wait until the requirements are available in-game.
Even though you do get a competitive advantage by rushing through, understanding and having a good foundation in the basics will help you grow eventually.
New Player Tips:
- Focus on understanding each feature as you complete the missions.
- Use the Resources and items given as needed to progress in the missions.
- Be careful when going above Headquarters lvl. 12 for the missions, or you might get attacked.
- Combine the Chapter Missions with other features and events for better results.
Returning Players
Returning players tend to be those who are wanting a fresh start and have returned to the game after being away for a few months. Usually, they plan on playing either in their current State or transferring to a new suggested State. The returning player can combine a diverse amount of resources, like gift codes, participating in Alliance events, returning player events, and other benefits. Because this player has to be as optimal as possible in their growth, there are 2 possible strategies using Chapter Missions for this kind of player. We will cover them below.
Aggressive Style
The aggressive style is a style of gameplay at the beginning of a State that is focused on rapid growth to use military power to overpower smaller opponents. This requires a very active Alliance and uses all of the available Resources at the start of the game for a head start on attacking players.
While this style will consume less Stamina and Squad Stamina at the start of the game, it can still be leveraged to have strong Rare Heroes to use with the Training Center due to Exploration Missions.
At the end of each Chapter, the player is rewarded with Stamina or Small Stamina Packs. Make sure that the Stamina bar is never above the maximum level when you log off the game, as this regenerates to the maximum amount while offline. This way, you’re still being optimal about Stamina consumption.
Aggressive Returning Player Tips:
- Keep an eye on the Stamina. If you run out, you can use Biocaps.
- Combine the returning player feature with Construction and Research, ensuring to estimate the time and the Alliance Help needed based on the number of members online.
- Try to work on Growth and Side Missions while doing Chapter Missions.
- Use items as you get them to speed up the time needed for Construction or Research.
Passive Style
The passive style difference consists mostly of not going extra hard on hunting and focusing on the first events. This kind of player will lay low in terms of power and try to hoard as many items for the first events, including Hunting the Hunter and Survival of the Fittest, so their strategy for the Chapter Missions is slightly different.
Stamina and Squad Stamina usage is still important; the player needs to avoid as many level-ups as possible to use them on an event like Hunting the Hunter and should use Hero mechanics to complete Exploration Missions outside of Intel without spending Hero Fragments.
The goal for this player is to gather as many Resources as possible so they can bloom and gather a huge amount of Hero Fragments on the first Survival of the Fittest combined with some spending.
Passive Returning Player Tips:
- Keep an eye on the Stamina usage.
- Do not use any Hero Fragments or items unless you cannot proceed without them.
- Save your Stamina for the first Travis event.
Espionage Players
The first gives you access to the basic Leaderboards. The second gives you access to events like Alliance Showdown, which can be used to track active players, and the third gives access to the Aircraft Leaderboard.
As in most cases, the accounts will only cover Aggressive style or Passive style (unless it is a recurring State-vs-State); players have a low commitment to these accounts, so the best strategy is to rush all the tasks as soon as possible.
The game gives you enough rewards to move forward in each of them, combined with the event that locates the Hero Jane for new accounts (the event starts as soon as you open the event banner), among other events.
Speed-ups given to new accounts, even without codes, tend to be enough if the Daily Tasks and other events are done while rushing the HQ levels for this account.
Stamina optimization and reward usage have very little impact here, so the tips for these cases are the ones below:
Espionage Player Tips:
- Gather all the free items possible on this account.
- Finish the tasks as soon as possible.
- Feel free to use all of your Speed-ups as needed.
- Remember to check the tasks, as some missions, like building a Lumberyard, are not covered by the Story.
I sincerely hope this was helpful. Good luck to you!
