Tips to Stealth

Make sure you are crouched. Sleep/wait until it’s night so it’s dark. At night you can see where the enemy is looking because their flash light will be on. Move slowly and out of their line of sight.

If you keep on throwing rocks they will start searching for you and you will lose the advantage. First rock will make the guy look towards the noise, and second rock will cause a couple of guys to go towards the rock. Any more will begin to alarm them.

Your sneaking is also not 100% quiet until you unlock a stealth skill perk. So when you garrote you have to move in fast and don’t hesitate. He will hear you when you are about 1 meter away behind him and you have just a second to begin choking him.

You can also shoot to kill a guy or two and then quickly sprint back to the village and then come back. They don’t respawn that quickly and you will have an easier time sneaking through them.

The stealth system has a lot of details on top of that, because the npcs will notice dead bodies and investigate after checking the body. good luck!
