UNDETECTED – All Bosses Guide

This guide will explain the strategy to defeat Undetected’s bosses.

Guide to All Bosses

Introduction

If you play stealth games, you’ll usually notice a pattern where the bosses require a special method to deal with. Most of the times it’s not just simply “shoot or beat til they drop” but require a bit of thinking, plus the fact that most stealth game protagonists are fragile. As such, this guide will explain how to deal with the bosses in this Metal Gear Solid-inspired stealth game.

Jimmy McCoy aka “The Nose”

A sniper with an enhanced sense of smell. He’ll know where you are if you get too close, and ran away after using a flashbang and dropping explosive mines along the way. So naturally, you’d wanna use an item you might think was a joke: stink bombs. If you somehow ran out of it, the pickup on the start of the level respawns.

Strategy: Go near him, but do not cross his line of sight. Press E to select explosives type, and select the stink bombs. Hold down R so Tenoch will put down the bomb in front of him. After it activates, you will be covered in smelly brown cloud. Try to approach Nose from behind, and he will be coughing. Punch him several times, and he will run away. Repeat until he’s down.

Sometimes, he will hide in a bush where you’ll automatically enter sneak mode. It seems you cannot attack here, but you actually can. Press right click to aim your gun when you’re near him, release the right click, then quickly left click and you’ll punch him like normal. This is important since half if not most of the time Nose will hide in the bushes, and you shouldn’t rely on waiting for him to hide in other places as it means he will drop more mines.

Evelyn Johnson aka “The Mind”

An immobile old lady on life support that controls machinery. She spawns a lot of drones, which unlike the usual spotter ones, actually deals damage, but luckily breaks in 1 hit. There are lots of respawning sponge bullets and blast grenade pickups, so take them. But do not use them all, since it may serve a purpose on later levels…

Strategy: Around her are 4 hatches containing machinery that you can open. Open them, take a bit of distance, and throw the blast grenade into the hole. Repeat until all 4 of them are destroyed. The drones will keep spawning so no use in trying to destroy them all. If you prolong the fight however, pickups will keep respawning so feel free to do that.

Agent C4B15 aka “The Body”

A mysterious cyborg operated with a human brain. Tough, indestructible skin. Fires heat-seeking rockets. You cannot damage him head-on, at first.

Strategy: This battle basically has 2 phases. The first phase requires you to make him destroy some generators. When he fires his rockets try to hide behind one so it blows up the generator instead. Repeat until all generators are destroyed and the room is flooded. Take care not to fall into the gaps between the walkway in the middle.

After the short cutscene, he can take damage normally and the second phase begins. This one is simple and straightforward, remember those sponge bullets you saved? Unload them on him and he goes down really fast. Beware of his laser attacks. A word of note, do not exit yet when you reach the next level directly after the defeat cutscene. If you exit before reaching the next room, you’ll have to fight him all over again.

Hunter Patton aka “The Lead”

The final boss, leader of Cimacorp’s security. Has augmented arms and legs, fights hand-to-hand combat.

Strategy: Remember when I said that stealth game bosses usually require a special method to defeat and not straightforward? This is not one of those cases. Shoot or punch him til he drops. Punches do more damage. Be aware of falling rocks and his high-damage dash attack though.

Closing

That is all, only 4 bosses in this game. Honestly, most of them are quite easy to figure out, with Nose probably being the one that requires the most thinking. But due to the lack of documentation and strategies surrounding this surprisingly good game, I decided to make one. Hopefully this guide can help you if you’re stuck.
