I found that the Ochre Taxi minigame on the island behind the lab on Granny’s island was relatively quick cash. just stay on the conveyor belt long enough and large cash items will drop. You also get two rows of breakable coin bricks at the entrance that respawn whenever you “time out”.

Another way

1. Enter Arcade Plaza.
2. Go to the bowling ally.
3. Push the balls so you get a strike in all 3 lanes.
4. Break 20 chairs while the balls are rolling and collect the destruction bonus (30 from strikes, 20 from chairs).
5. Collect the 2 safes from the strike on lanes 2 and 4 plus the extra from recollecting the gear in 3.
6. Exit to Morio’s Lab and repeat.

Easy 300 coins per visit. Only takes a minute or two. Sometimes the balls will strike lanes 1 and 5 for an extra 25 coin pickup.
