How-To (Step-by-Step)

  • Download Lossless Scaling from the Steam Store.
  • Start the game and set the resolution to 1920×1080. [16:9] [Window]
  • Save & Exit the game.
  • Start Lossless Scaling.
  • Once the Lossless Scaling window has opened click on “Settings”.
  • Activate “Start as administrator”.
  • Activate “Start minimized at Windows startup”.
  • Activate “Minimize to tray”.
  • Close the “Settings” menu.
  • Click on “Add”.
  • Click on “Title” and enter “Project Zomboid”.
  • Click on “Browse” and locate your Project Zomboid .exe.
  • Activate “Auto scale”.
  • Leave “Delay” at “0”.
  • Slide “Sharpness” one [1] step to the right.
  • Make sure that “Scaling Type” is set to “LS1”.
  • Make sure that “Frame Generation” is set to “Off”.
  • Activate “Clip cursor”.
  • Leave everything else as is.
  • Minimize the Lossless Scaling window, do not click on the “X”.
  • Start Project Zomboid, the game should launch in fullscreen.
  • Done, enjoy a properly scaled UI on a 4K monitor.

Important note: Keep in mind that this fix is of a temporary nature, the developers said that they were going to fix this issue in B42; whether or not that statement was the truth remains to be seen.
