Damage Formula Initial Calculations
Do NOT spec ATK into Support and Break Characters!
Damage in Aniimo is calculated differently depending on the character’s role. As a result, ATK is generally not useful for Break characters or Support, Heal, and Regen characters whose skills do not specifically scale with ATK.
How Damage Scales by Character Type
- DPS characters: Damage is calculated using the ATK stat.
- Break characters: Damage is calculated using the BREAK stat.
- Some Regen characters: Damage is calculated using the REGEN stat. Examples include Somniwing and Flamerion.
- The remaining Support, Heal, and Regen characters: Damage scales with their current level rather than ATK.
There are exceptions to these general categories. Some Support characters have skills that specifically scale with ATK, including Tromber, Luminelle, and Eklue. Melloblum and Panpiota are also noted as exceptions.
Approximate Damage Formula
Initial calculations indicate that the effective attack stat for Break characters is approximately:
0.85 × BREAK
For Support characters in the level-scaling category, the effective attack stat is approximately:
10.65 × level
Based on these approximations, a skill with 20 Might produces approximately the same damage from:
| Character Type | Effective Stat |
|---|---|
| DPS | 640 ATK |
| Breaker | 753 BREAK |
| Support | Level 60 |
How to Invest Capability Points
For Break characters, do not spend capability points on ATK when their skills do not scale with ATK. Instead, focus on increasing their effective attack stat, which is approximately 0.85 × BREAK.
For Support, Heal, and Regen characters whose skills do not scale with ATK, do not spend capability points on ATK for the purpose of increasing their damage. Instead, focus on their effective attack stat, depending on how their damage scales.
If you want to increase the damage of these characters further, consider other multiplicative damage sources, such as:
- Damage Amp from held items
- Critical hits
