Tasty Fly (the Item)

The Tasty Fly is an item which drops in Backpack Hero. It has a chance to drop alongside any loot dropped by a monster, and can presumably be done in Quick Game or Story Mode; however, I earned the achievement in Quick Game so if you’re struggling to find it perhaps just stick to Quick Game

Here you can see the Tasty Fly has dropped after defeating any enemy.

The Haggler (Achievement)

Though it’s not clear from the achievement itself what to do, there are some clues in its name, the item description and a line from the merchant who says something about tasty flies.

To earn the achievement, first find a Tasty Fly then “sell” it to the merchant (by dragging + dropping it like you would sell an item). The titular name of the achievement “Haggler” refers to the effect when you do this: all items are now 50% off for this merchant (even if you leave and come back).

I forgot to get a screenshot of the items beforehand, but Legendary items can be bought for 35g and here you can see the Legendary item for 17g (I later took a screenshot of another legendary from a different merchant for 35g).

Hero Achievement + Item Discovery

Since I had trouble finding information about this I thought I would put it here. Items are discovered simply as you see them in loot. There’s no need to collect the items nor take the items back to Haversack. If an item shows in an enemies loot after you kill it that counts as being discovered.

I got the Hero achievement at the end of a combat when an item dropped I hadn’t seen before.
