Baldur’s Gate 3 – Dice Rolling Tips

Tips to Dice Rolling

Not to sound like git gud. But in all seriousness the game system is designed around rolling dice, and so there are a lot of situational rules, feats, spells, etc. that will give you advantage and/or bonuses to your rolls and the more you know the better your odds. The game naturally comes easier to D&D players. The feat luck for instance gives you rerolls. Inspiration from role playing gives your rerolls. I like how its implemented so far.

Getting opponents in disadvantage or your self in advantage or both is kind of the name of the game. Knocking opponents prone, entangling them, sleep, etc all put enemies at disadvantage in varying degrees. Working your rogue properly is a key.

In the early game of BG3 I’m finding The cantrips. Friends and Guidance are saviours for dialogue checks. Charm, hex, fairie fire, entangle, sleep etc. all of these spells will help with situational dice.

I see a lot of people complaining about the dice, but honestly thats the game. You put the odds in your favor thru tactical advantage and/or disadvantage and when you lose sometimes you have fun the results.
