The Basics (Prologue Spoilers!)

You start the game off playing as Audrey, a young lady working at Arch Gate Pictures. The starting date is June 18th, 1978. You first wander through the building, trying to get some coffee but things slowly grow more unsettling until you meet Wilson. Wilson is an old janitor who works at Arch Gate Pictures and lead you down into rooms which tell the story of Joey Drew and his career and fall.

Wilson leads you to the nonoperational Ink Machine and tells you to fetch “artifacts” which resemble the fetch quest during Chapter 1 in Bendy and the Ink Machine. You places the items onto the pedestals and start the Ink Machine and the Wilson drags you into the Ink and that is when the game really starts to take off.

Gent Pipe & Combat

The Gent Pipe is your first and only weapon you get. It can be collected in the Atrium in the Animation Ally during Chapter 1. Upgrades are expensive and you’ll need blueprints to do so.

  • Left Mouse to swing the pipe once.
  • Hold down the Left Mouse to keep on swinging the pipe.
  • Sneak up on a Lost One or Searcher and interact to banish them, it will restore a portion of your health doing so.

Upgrades (Thick Ink Canisters) & Stealth

You can upgrade your health, stamina and ability to cool down by consuming various upgrades across the Studio named Thick Ink Canisters. There is a 3 upgrade limit for each of your stats. Most upgrades are hidden and you may come across only around half of them during your first play through.

Stealth can be used to sneak past almost every enemy that wanders throughout the Studio.

It is first introduced in Chapter 1 while trying to get the Gent Pipe. It may be wacky at times as you can almost be directly in front an enemy and not be spotted.

Stealth isn’t required to get past the Keepers.

Ink Demon

The Ink Demon aka. Ink Bendy

He will randomly attack in which you have around 5-10 seconds to hide until he kills you.

You can avoid him by hiding in the many hiding places.

  • Barrels
  • Little Miracle Stations
  • Podiums(?)
  • Crates
  • Lockers
  • Pipes
  • Vents
  • Door Frames (must be at crouch level. example: doors where you have to crouch to get through, not 100% safe)

He can attack in all Chapters except the first and when Cartoon Bendy is present.

Lost Ones

Lost Ones are the most common enemy in the game, appearing in every Chapter. They can wield weapons and throw damaging ink at you. Large groups are tough and recommended to either sneak past or pick one off one at a time by either banishing them or engaging in combat.

Piper

Piper also known as Charley

The first enemy introduced in BATDR.

Piper can spawn in the multiple “Linker” Ink Wells littered throughout the Studio.

One of Piper’s spawn points

You will be able to detect him through the ink spilling out of the bottom and a gurgling noise emitting from inside the Ink Well,. To avoid him, you can keep distance from the well.

When approached, he will jump out of the well and deal small amount of damage and will try to attack you. You can escape by just running away or hiding in a Little Miracle Station.

Striker

Striker aka. Edgar

Striker can spawn in the multiple ceiling holes throughout the Studio.

One of Strikers spawn points.

You will be able to detect him through the dirt falling and a growling noise emitting from inside the hole. To avoid him, you can keep distance from the well.

When approached, he will jump down out of the hole and deal a small amount of damage and will try to attack you. Beware, he is very fast. You can escape by just running away or hiding in a Little Miracle Station

Fisher

Fisher aka.

Fisher can spawn in the lockers and only the lockers throughout the Studio.

You will be able to detect him through the locker door rattling and a banging noise followed by gurgling from inside the locker. To avoid him, you can avoid interacting with the locker as distance does not matter.

When the locker is interacted with, he will jump out of the locker and deal a small amount of damage and will try to attack you. You can escape by just running away or hiding in a Little Miracle Station

Slicer

Slicer aka. Carley

Slicer will teleport in front of the you and charge towards you after you interacted with her crate during Chapter 2.

  • Slicer is unavoidable after you open her crate after the Projector Puzzle during Chapter 2.
  • You can avoid Slicer entirely by not opening the crate she is in and is completely optional.
  • An achievement will be awarded to you if you complete the game while being haunted by Slicer.

Searchers

Searchers are barely humanoid crawling ink blobs. They are first introduced in Chapter 1. They are rare to find. Not much else to say.

Conclusion

I hope this guide has successfully aided you in your journey across the Studio and beyond.

Good luck! You’ll be needing it.
