This game is an immersive sim that actively punishes experimentation with the curse upon death mechanic. Let’s save scum it!
- Press ‘save and exit’ in the menu when you want to make a save.
- Load the save from the main menu to continue playing
- Quickly alt+f4 if you die
Open the game and load the save. If you closed the game fast enough, you will start from your manual save.
If you are not quick enough on the trigger, you will start from the safe zone with a curse. Better luck next time
P.S. Verified that this method allows you to get a ‘don’t die in chapter N’ achievement.
I think the Soul Flaws/Curses are so minimal that they don’t stop me from experimenting at all. In fact even if they were super debilitating, they’re so easily removed.
5 kills, 5 stealth kills, 5 headshots. Etc etc. easy stuff.
And finally…soul flaws are so easy to avoid. I find so many coins. So damn many, must have at least 12 in my storage just in chapter 1. Give 1 to the totem, get the blessing of the Cat. Then you won’t acquire a soul flaw upon death.
Hm sounds like a skill issue. You can get rid of the curse by doin some errand for mr. skullstick. Or as a preventive measuere buy a blessing which negates the curse effect on death.
