CPM 2 – Simple Guide to LSD Tuning

Simple Guide to LSD Tuning in CPM2

Limited-slip differentials (LSDs) in CPM2 have up to four tuning options: Acceleration Bias, Brake Bias, Lock Percent, and Max Bias. The available tuning options depend on the differential type, with tunable differentials ranging from Torsen to ActiveM.

Acceleration Bias

Acceleration Bias controls how much the differential locks when accelerating under throttle.

  • Increasing Acceleration Bias: Increases oversteer under throttle and makes the car more likely to spin out during acceleration.

Lock Percent

Lock Percent controls the amount of differential locking while coasting.

  • Increasing Lock Percent: Increases understeer while coasting and during light braking.

Brake Bias

Brake Bias controls the differential’s locking percentage during hard braking.

  • Increasing Brake Bias: Increases understeer under braking and makes the car more stable.
  • Decreasing Brake Bias: Allows the car to rotate more easily while braking.

Max Bias

Max Bias is available only on ActiveM and Electronic LSD differentials. It raises the maximum locking limit because these differentials adjust their locking behavior dynamically.

The effect of this setting on vehicle handling may be difficult to notice, so adjusting it may not be necessary.
