Cyberpunk 2077 – Fix for Random Shock Explosion One Shot Instant Death

This guide’s purpose if to provide a most likely fix for the issue which persists from the release date of Cyberpunk 2077. Players tend to randomly explode due to a shock (electricity) effect and die, basically instantly.

The Fix

Сrеdit gоеs to shadowatnight !

The purpose of this guide is to provide a simple and most likely fix to the issue of random deaths due to explosions of shock (electricity). There is nothing more frustrating than restarting from a checkpoint cuz of some random death that had no impact on.

The game tends to screw many things up (hence the nickname Cyberbug 2077 lol) and one of them is the over-the-top damage caused by explosions of different nature (such as red barrels). If you keep dying for no apparent reason (an explosion of unknown origin) during combats, it might be due to possessing one or more of the following perks/items:

  • Ticking Time Bomb (Level 20 Technical Ability) – this perk creates an EMP hit that targets nearby enemies. In my case it was the cause of random shock damage to my character. Go to the Tech skill tree and refund this ability if you have it enabled.
  • The Shock-n-Awe is Cyberware for the Integumentary System. This implant has a 10% chance to release a large electroshock that deals 135-500 damage to nearby enemies, whenever you take damage. It can also cause the damage to you hero by mistake, so make sure to replace it with some other chrome.
  • The Microgenerator is Cyberware for the Hands. This implant causes the next shot after reloading an empty weapon to release an electroshock that deals up to 90-300 damage to enemies near the point of impact. It can also cause the damage to you hero by mistake, so make sure to replace it with some other chrome.

I hope this guide helped you fix the issue of random damage by explosion.
