FINAL FANTASY VII EVER CRISIS – Beginners Tips and Tricks

So this game I actually find very enjoyable, it may have a bit of a grind but if you are a fan of the franchise it can go very easily if you try out these beginner tips.

Tips and Tricks for New Players

Foreword

The game wants you to go at it slow..remember this is a game that plans to periodically release story content of EVERY saga in the FF7 Compendium. Characters become playable for free as they add more story.

So lets start the tips.

General Tips

  • Check the FF7 Ever Crisis Weapons Tier List (if you focus on what weapons are great for your characters first, you’ll generally have an easier time).
  • Try out every mission objective it recommends, save your Blue Crystals as much as you can.
    • The game feeds you alot of crystals to get content for free if you login or atleast complete your daily quests, try out everything once so you can atleast get the CLEAR.
  • Some content that’s out now might be useful for future content (Do not worry, most weapons that you may miss out on events become available later, Wish list things you find might be useful for future content so you’ll be more useful in co-op sessions).
  • Join Discords (alot of the community does have Whales and some content reward players the more new people get clears, so come hang out and make sessions with the community so you can clear Co-Op content faster).
  • Do Story content, all of it (you’ll unlock everything).
  • Again dailies, dailies, dailies (new seasonal events last weeks, maybe months. The Stamina system stops you from being greedy, take things one day at a time. trust me you’ll get everything you need if you take it slower and waste less time).
  • Shops have a tab called Specials, where they give you some items for free, grab it.
  • Always buy from the gil shop.
  • Some events give free weapons, max them out. It’s worth the grind.

The rest of the game will speak for itself, The only harsh thing is the price of red crystals for simple 10 pulls. When its such harsh RNG for Stamps or even to get the weapon thats being promoted in said event it sucks if you don’t get alot of it.

FInal Tip

Costumes, really commit only to the costume you want. You might feel * missing out on it but it’s not worth your time and money if you aren’t lucky with Stamps. 12 STAMPS are required, and most 10 pulls are 1-2 stamps…imagine if I told you its expensive just to buy a single 10 pull.

But events always shower you with blue crystals to try and convince you to farm then do tons of pulls hoping for a costume. You might not even know, the week later a new costume will be added a week later related to the same event (So save them until near the end).

Those are my tips, the rest is straight forward and I hope you enjoy the game. If you want my suggestion of what the devs need to improve this game? Decrease the price of 10 pulls and really increase the stamp RNG. Even if weapons are easily obtainable later eventually because of Wishlists? the struggle for Costumes can be harsh on people with bad luck. I’d rather just buy the costumes outright.

Happy Hunting!

  1. My approach was to take Cloud, Zack, and Glenn as my main party so I could level one character from each story and build them up. It helped a lot that my best early drops were for them. By the time I got to the point I was ready to do the Extra story content, I cleared Extra CC with no additional preparation. But, I suffered greatly when it came to the harder extra story content from the others because the remaining party members were too weak to be sustainable through a battle.

In retrospect, I wouldn’t change anything because the bonus XP events plus the rare encounter odd boosts made levelling the rest of the characters a breeze, and I had at least one strong character that made clearing the harder difficulties manageable for a few battles until the rest of the team got in shape.

I don’t think my approach is any better than any other; the game has a way of balancing your team whether you do it at the start or you finish the content and want to go for the harder stuff. You’ll grind either way.

My actual useful advice is to not skip out on the chocobo ranch. Opening the other stables gave me a huge amount of passive rewards and XP for those times I couldn’t commit to a play session.
