How much of a daily time commitment does the game require to keep up?
Usually takes me 5 mins max for dailies. Will usually complete weekly quests in the first 1-2 days of the week without much effort.
How many free pulls do you earn per week?
x10 pulls cost 3000 currency, so almost 1/6 of a x10 pull per week (450 currency), a little more than 1/3 if you watch two ads everyday (1150 currency). This isn’t including daily login bonuses that give free currency (100 currency daily, 1000 currency on last day), which aren’t always available but are active more often than not. These bonuses usually last 7-14 days after a new content release or holiday and can overlap with eachother if multiple events are going on.
How many free pulls do events give out?
Events give out dozens of free pull tickets, but these don’t have a pity system and cannot pull out the newest weapons or any skins. Events also tend to give around enough currency to do 1 or 2 x10 pulls.
Does the game have a Pity Mechanic? How many pulls does it take to hit pity?
Pity mechanic exists only on the running gacha banners. With bad luck, it takes 6 x10 pulls (3000 x 6 currency) to hit the next pity, with good luck you’ll hit two pities in a single x10 pull. Generally it seems to take 3-4 pulls. First pity is always a banner weapon, second is a banner skin. If two characters are in a single banner, 3rd pity will be another weapon and 4th will be a skin. 5th pity will be a random 5* weapon, 6th pity will be a banner weapon. After that, it’ll endlessly repeat with a guaranteed random 4* weapon, then a guaranteed random 5* weapon.
What are the rates like?
Rates aren’t bad if you just want to pull a couple weapons and a few duplicates, but to fully max out a weapon you need to pull 11 5* copies of it. This is extremely hard to do as a free to play player. Pulling lower star copies does help slightly.
A single 5* copy = x20 4* copies = x200 3* copies.
How often do new banners appear?
Banners are frequent, especially around holidays.
Are duplicates required to power up characters?
Characters are given for free and leveled via exp and grinding memory stones. Duplicates are only needed for weapons. Character skins with average stats can be acquired via battle pass or microtransactions. Character skins with good stats can only be pulled via banner 2nd and 4th pity.
How is powercreep so far? Do most characters in the launch roster remain comparable in DPS to whoever came out last?
Only one new character came out so far and he immediately became #1 DPS for magic damage, mainly because all other characters were somewhat lacking there. Cloud is still #1 physical DPS followed by Tifa. Aerith is still best healer/support. Other characters are decent and have various niche uses, but you likely will only be able to focus on 3-4 characters unless you are spending money.
