Here is a quick guide for people having issues with linking their gmail account to the Steam version for the data link.

What you need to do is link up your Square Enix Account/Bridge to your Steam account.

To do this, login on the Square Enix page and then link your Steam account to that login.

Here is the link for US users.

If it says your steam account is already linked for any reason, then you are already good to go and just need to follow the last section below. If not, youll want to find “Steam” under “Link New Account” section. From there, you’ll login and it’ll link up your Steam account to your Square account.

Then when you are in the game and selecting what option to use for the data link login, select Steam. It should show the current gems you have and simply continue from there and you are good to go.
