Greenhouse

Do I have to water my plants in the greenhouse?

No. There is an auto-watering system in the greenhouse.

Can we control the temperature in the greenhouse?

There is no concept of temperature change in the game.

Shed

Can we sort out the inventory and storage?

There is no automatic way to sort your inventory or storage.

Can we pet the cats?

You can pet two cats in the garden and one cat in Leslie’s shop.

Why can’t I put my seeds in different storage?

Each storage has a purpose: one for tools, one for decorations, and one for seeds and plants.

Pests and Bugs

Is pest removal eco-friendly?

The design of the pest removal spray was based on neem oil. The spray itself is eco-friendly as it’s in a game, and comes with no harmful environmental or digital effects.

How do I know my plant is infected?

You will see a small cloud of black flies and hear a buzzing in the location of the infected plant.

How do I refil my pest removal spray?

Point the bug sprayer away from plants and object and use the prompt button a few times to refil the spray.

How to get rid of pests?

You can get a pest removal spray for free in Leslie’s shop.

Are there any bugs (insects) in the game?

Other than the small cloud of black flies when a plant is infected or the bug hotel, there are no insects in the game.

Gardening and Decorating

Can I customize the decorations?

There is a brush you can purchase from Leslie’s shop that can change all of the placeable decoration’s colors.

How do we get new seeds and decorations?

Seeds can be gained from a few ways: purchased from the shop, harvested from established plants, or given as a reward for a request or mission.

How do we get new seed colors?

When a plant is ready to harvest, you will have a small light (VFX) coming from them.This will indicate a new seed. If the VFX is green, the seed will be the same colour as the plant you are harvesting from, and if it is a pink, the seed will be a different colour as the plant you are harvesting from. In creative mode, all colours are available from the start in the shed.

How to cut plants? Is there a way to cut plants faster?

You can cut plants with the pruning shears which are available for free in Leslie’s shop. To cut shrub plants (such as rose bushes) faster, you can aim for the branches instead of the flower heads. Don’t worry, your plant will grow back!

How many decorations, plants and varieties are in the game?

Including both available DLCs: 22 plants, 126 plant variations, and around 145 decorations (each with colour variations).

How many plants I can plant in my garden? How many decorations?

It really depends on the type and size of plant/decorations. When placing an item or plant, you will see a bar with a plant or a frog appear: this shows how much you have placed VS how much space you have left. Bushy plants will take up more space than single stemmed plants.

Can we extend the number of plants I can place in the garden?

You can extend is the size of the garden, but not the limitation of plants.

How do we know a plant can climb?

In the plant book inside the shed :you can see the type of plant you have (normal, bush or climbing plant). Climbing plants are: Ivy, Clematis, Morning glory and Jasmine.

Why is my climbing plant not climbing?

Make sure you have placed the plant close to an item that has height (such as a trellis or fence). Cut the top of the plant and check back: climbers can be tricky to get to take, so regular pruning is required.

A plant is not growing, what should I do?

Either cut the plant so it might have a chance to grow the next day, or dig it up to replant it. Plants will not grow after the end of day – try going home using the bus stop.

Can we plant fruit trees or fruit plants?

There are no fruit trees or fruit plants in Garden Life.

Can I improve my watering can?

The watering can can’t be improved, but their are alternatives to it: you can get a hose or a sprinkler in Leslie’s shop.

How to refill my watering can?

There are two ways of refilling the watering can, either filling it from the tap or going to the river.

Can I improve my tools?

Tools can’t be improved, but you can purchase a variety of tools in Leslie’s shop.

Can I move a plant?

You are able to move plants with the trowel tool which you can purchase from the shop.

Can I put decorations everywhere?

The game doesn’t follow real physics, you can place decorations almost everywhere inside your garden, By removing the support, they can even float!

Creative Mode

How to get new seeds?

In creative mode, you have access to all seeds of all colours in the shed from the start of the game. Seeds can also be bought for free from Leslie’s shop.

How to change seasons?

In creative mode, you can go into the shed and change the season by selecting the pictures just underneath the clock.

How to change the weather?

You cannot change the weather, but you can skip to the next day and check out the weather forecast in the shed. (It’s more accurate than any forecast!)

Do I have to take care of my plants?

You still have to take care of your plants in creative mode.

Can I complete achievements in creative mode?

You can’t complete achievements in creative mode.

Is there a way to delete everything?

There is no way to delete everything, but you can start a new save in creative mode.

Quests

Can’t finish a mission, what can I do?

There is no way to abandon a mission as they are necessary to progress in the main story. However, you can ignore simple requests (postcards) if you don’t wish to complete them as they don’t have any effect on the story..

I forgot what my missions/requests/tasks are, where can I find them?

When playing, the key to press in order to get access to the mission/request interface is displayed at the top of your screen .

How do I complete the mission?

Gather the required items in your inventory or rucksack, then go to the dropbox and fulfill the demand.

Can we date the characters?

There is no dating in this game.

Village

How do I get to the village?

You can access the vilage by clicking on your bike, clicking on the Village Square sign, or walking to the end of the road.

How do I get back to the garden?

By either clicking on the bike, clicking on the Garden sign, or walking to the end of the road.

What can I buy?

You can buy seeds, decorations and tools. Each season has special items, so check the store regularly!

Where is the shop?

The shop is inside the building right in front of you when you get in the village.

Where can I sell things? How do I unlock the stand / stall? Can I sell my bouquets?

In story mode, play through the game by completing missions and requests for the characters. You will eventually unlock a stall in the village’s square where you can sell cut flowers and bouquets.

How to get rocks? How to get sticks?

Rocks can be found at the start of your game in your garden and then, to get more stones and sticks, you will need to use the shop. You can craft large rocks into smaller ones at the crafting bench in your shed.

How do I get snow piles to make the snow man?

Check outside the front area of your garden in winter to find snow piles,

What is the pavilion?

The pavilion is an area to show off creations made by the villagers. Supply them with the correct cut flowers in order to complete each floral statue.

How to open the pavilion?

Progress through the story to access the pavilion. It is not available in creative mode.

How to build a flower structure?

To build a flower structure, you will need to go to the village and fill up the structure with the amount of ressources needed to finalize the structure.

Garden, Weather and Seasons

Are there seasons in the game?

There are four seasons to experience in Garden Life, each lasting 30 in-game days. In the creative mode, they can be changed instantly. There are no adverse effects on the plants in different seasons, but you will notice different items in the shop, different customisation options for the garden fence, and a difference in the price of certain bouquets when you sell them in your stall.

Can you skip seasons?

In story mode, you can’t skip seasons. In creative mode, you can go into the shed and change the season by selecting the pictures just underneath the clock.

Can I turn off the rain?

You cannot turn off rain, but you can skip to the next day and check out the weather forecast in the shed. (It’s more accurate than any forecast!)

Can we extend the garden? Can we unlock the garden? How do I unlock the new zones?

In story mode, play through the game by completing missions and requests for the characters. Once available, use the customisation board at the entrance of the Garden to unlock new areas.

Can I change the fences?

Once the customisation board at the front of the garden is unlocked, the outside fence can be changed. Each season has a different option. In creative mode, change season in the shed and check which fence you would like. The board is available from the start of creative mode and unlocked later in the story mode.

Can I add buildings or move them?

You can’t build or move buildings except for the Gazebo (a big decoration you can walk in). You can change the colour of the greenhouse and the shed at the customisation board.

Can I move the tree?

There is no way to move the tree. Each season will change its colour, but its location stays the same.
