Speedrun Guide

Island 1

Start by collecting clams. Do not fish on this island. Collect enough clams to purchase:

• Brass Knuckles
• Beer Can

Clams usually spawn on the front side of the island, so collect them as quickly as possible.

Boss Fight

For optimal speed, eat clams to maintain health and attack the boss as quickly as possible.

After defeating the boss:

1. Sell all of the boss’s body parts.
2. Give the quest item to the NPC.
3. Purchase:
   • Rod
   • Radar, which is technically optional

Island 2

Sell the Brass Knuckles.

Preparing for the Boss

Collect leeches, which sell for $4 each, and save money until you can purchase the shotgun. Once you have enough money, summon the boss.

During the fight, you can sell Mini Piranhas for additional cash. Use this money to upgrade the shotgun’s damage.

After approximately 2 to 3 damage upgrades, finish the boss. Sell all of the remaining boss parts and proceed to Island 3.

Island 3

Unlike the previous islands, you now need to fish.

Buy standard lures and fish until you catch an endangered species. Give the endangered species to the NPC sitting by a tree. This rewards you with the carrot needed to summon the boss.

Shark

Unlock The Grill and save $280 to purchase the standard boss lure. Use it to summon and fight the shark.

The shotgun is suitable for this fight, although you can purchase the SMG instead if preferred.

After unlocking The Grill, continue fishing and earn enough money to obtain the SMG. You can then use it to take on the Pufferfish.

Before leaving Island 3, purchase the motor to save time during the remainder of the speedrun.

Island 4

The Albatross makes this island more difficult, and the sniper is useful for dealing with it.

Buy professional lures and fish, then cook and sell your catches until you have $5,000. Use the money to purchase:

• Sniper
• Professional boss lure

Use the professional boss lure to summon the Tuna.

Tuna

After catching the Tuna, you have two options:

• Sell the Tuna: Sell it, use the money to upgrade your gear, and then fight the boss.
• Fight the boss: Skip the upgrades and proceed directly to the boss fight.

Albatross Boss Fight

Because the Albatross stays high above the ground, the sniper is likely necessary. Bring additional food in case you need extra healing. You can cheese the fight by shooting the Albatross and then moving inside a building. Whenever it sends out its white goo attack, make sure you are inside a house.

After defeating the boss, sell the boss scraps and proceed to Island 5.

Island 5

Fish using scientific lures until you have $20,000. Use the money to purchase the AK. Fight the miniboss and upgrade the AK somewhat before taking on the Whale. After defeating the Whale, throw it into the lava. Then proceed to the final boss. During the final boss fight, heal periodically with lava clams when necessary.
