How to Get Skins Efficiently
This method lets you farm a large number of Reel of Fortune rolls much faster than fishing for Dripper. It becomes especially efficient in the late game, but can also be used relatively early.
Quest items can be used to roll the Reel of Fortune machine. These include boss drops that are used to progress through the game, but not the meat.
This method can also help you get the “GOLD GOLD GOLD” achievement quickly.
Step 1: Get and Upgrade a Shotgun
Once you reach the 2nd island, get a shotgun and fully upgrade it. You can upgrade it further later in the game if you want.
Step 2: Buy Beer and Make Empty Beer Can Bait
Save enough money to buy as much beer as possible. For a good supply, having at least $120 for 10 cans of bait is recommended.
Feed the beer to the sailor to turn it into Empty Beer Can bait.
Step 3: Farm Spider Crab Shells
Take your Empty Beer Can bait to any island with a Reel of Fortune machine. Use the bait to summon the Spider Crab boss. It can be summoned anywhere as long as you have the required Empty Beer Can bait.
With a fully upgraded shotgun from Island 2, the Spider Crab can be killed in approximately 4–6 point-blank shots.
In the late game, you can instead use a fully upgraded sniper rifle from Island 5 and kill the Spider Crab with a single headshot as soon as it emerges from the water.
Repeat the process until you run out of Empty Beer Can bait, collecting all the Spider Crab shells it drops.
Step 4: Use the Reel of Fortune
Take the Spider Crab shells to the Reel of Fortune and use them to roll for skins. Keep rolling until you get the skin you want.
If you run out of shells, repeat Steps 2 and 3 with more Empty Beer Can bait and better weapons.
