Managers Guide
To see manager statistics, such as overall bonuses, go to Managers, then Actions, and then Stats.
How Do Managers Work?
- Managers are found in the fourth tab at the bottom of the screen.
- You can unlock them in the Projects Tree, which is slightly to the right of the middle.
- To upgrade a manager, long-press on them and click Promote. Promotion requires four managers of the same star level. After promotion, you’ll keep only the one upgraded manager (for example, going from 4 stars to 5 stars) while the other three are discarded.
- Each planet can hold one manager, and that manager’s abilities will affect only that planet.
- Managers with three stars or higher get a secondary boost that affects all planets in the galaxy.
- A manager’s first boost can be mine rate, cargo capacity, or ship speed. Their secondary boost can be mine rate, cargo capacity, ship speed, smelt speed, or craft speed.
- When you level up a manager, their existing boosts won’t change. However, when a 2-star manager is promoted to 3 stars, they will gain a secondary boost.
What Managers Should I Get?
In general, the best manager sequences are (Primary/All Secondary):
- Mine/Smelt
- Mine/Craft
- Mine/Mine
- Mine/Ship Speed
- Mine/Cargo
The later you get in the game, the more you will move towards mine/mine over smelters/crafters as secondary bonuses.
- Because the boosts stack, it is better to have a few 4⭐ managers than to have one 5⭐ manager, so don’t be too hasty to promote managers.
Manager boosts can be increased by the Mothership Room: Classroom.
The Premium ship Aurora also doubles all managers bonuses.

How Many Managers Should You Get?
- Have as many manager slots as planets you regularly open
- Having a planet that can’t have a manager due to lack of slots is a waste
- Have no more manager slots than managers
- Having a slot without a manager to fill it is a waste
If you regularly open 10 planets, aim to quickly get 10 slots, and always have at least as many managers as slots. Make sure you have as many slots as the planets you regularly open during most runs. Don’t focus on upgrading managers until you have more managers than slots. These guidelines will change a bit once you reach about 30-35 manager slots, but you’ll understand that when you get there.
