He’s still very strong after the nerf since the auto cooking scales incredibly hard. He’s pretty lackluster until you can give him at least 11 attribute points since he needs to reach his clone cap to be competitive with other characters who can simply buy clones.
Attributes
Max out the clone tree for Multitasking. This is essentially a 100% cooking speed buff since he auto-cooks and it will also cut down on how much movement.
With the clone tree you can work diagonally which also means he can make recipes that use 5 squares like this.

Where x’s are appliances, o is your clone, -‘s are your serving tables. In this example he could fill 3 serving tables as well.
I’d recommend the gold tree as the next place to go with attributes so you can hard re-roll with the purpose being getting duplicates of the recipes you want and guaranteeing the cutting board appliance upgrade. Subsidy will also generate a lot of gold because he cooks so fast you will often have 100+ stacks of dishes.
Next you can go into either the full serving speed or the full satisfaction tree. The last effect is really good on either so just pick one.
I went 11/1/1 1/11/1 11/0/3 as my attributes and can confirm this easily clears stage 10 chaos.
Upgrades
Your only mandatory upgrade is 10/10 cutting board and you want it ASAP. It turns into an alien fridge as long as the ingredients need to be cut.
Optimally, you go 10/10 ingredient box, 10/10 cutting board, 10/10 skillet, the only cook time will be the cutting board which will also be very fast.
Beyond those I’d recommend anything that makes sense. He’s rather flexible. Commonly i’d just get serving speed, cooking speed, movement speed.
Recipes
He can do anything but the min/max with skillets I mentioned is the best. In that case you want any recipe that is just cutting board and skillet required.
Salmon Steak/Salmon Steak with Pineapple can all be done with just a cutting board and a skillet. And there’s overlap on the fish/lettuce/onion ingredients.
Pizzas/Pies. All overlap on cheese and flower, you don’t have to roll as hard because there’s so many of them. The downside is the oven cooking for you doesn’t matter because you already have that effect. But it’s still very good.
Burgers in general, all overlap on bread and cheese, next lettuce and tomato. They use countertops so they aren’t as fast as Salmon Steaks or pizzas. There’s a lot of them and they’re powerful so you don’t have to roll as hard.
Tips
It’s most efficient to set up your 6 clones on 6 different cooking stations because they don’t work together well and you’d have to at a minimum add another empty square to place them which isn’t needed.

This cooks faster than surrounding them with unnecessary appliances. The AI is stupid and will not optimize pathing they will just select an appliance to use to fulfill the recipe.
Basically, there’s often no benefit to giving them multiple cutting boards. Just put them right next to the appliance. There are some cases if your cooking speed is slow enough that they can fill multiple oven/fryers/skillets but you’ll probably only see that on the grey difficulty 1 recipes.
