Sky: Children of the Light – Daily Time-specific Wax Events Guide

Showing new players some of the more ambiguous (and high value) wax farming methods that are not directly disclosed in-game and are hard to discover alone since they are time based.

Guide to Daily Time-specific Wax Events

Welcoming New Players

With game launch, new (and old) players can take advantage of the limited X2 wax boost. This makes it easier to farm a decent amount of candles in no time! And one of the fastest and most effortless ways of doing so is attending time-based wax events that give huge amounts of wax. Some areas may not be accessible to players who haven’t finished a full run of the game once. so make sure you have finished Eye of Eden first before starting your candle farming journey.

Types of Time-Based Events

There are 3 types of time-based events that can be done multiple times a day:

  • Grandma. Event duration : 10 minutes (10 meals).
  • Geyser. Event duration : 10 minutes (10 Sea urchin eruptions).
  • Turtle. Event duration : 10 minutes (Collectible light trail left behind turtle ends after 10 minutes. there are collectible clams along the way too).

As for the time of each event, Sky Clock can give you an exact countdown of when each of these events will happen. they occur in a continuous cycle throughout the day.

Grandma

First thing you need to do is go through the Hidden Forest ( the 3rd map) and go through the initial linear section until you reach this place.

After that, walk a few steps forward and you’ll see an entrance (Elevated Clearing) to your right.

Once there, you’ll be able to see a big tree with an entrance. Head there and you’ll find a table

If you get here 5 minutes before the event, you’ll find grandma pacing back and forth and preparing her food. After she’s done. she will start giving meals every minute for 10 minutes. Light those meals with a candle to get the wax. Once she hands out her last meal, she will get up from her seat and wait for anyone to hug her. this concludes her event.

Geyser

First thing you want to do is go to Daylight Prairie (2nd map) and leave the social area. Once you land, head to the entrance on your right (Bird Nest)

After that, fly straight to the next area (Sanctuary Islands) where we will find both Geyser AND Turtle.

When you enter Sanctuary islands, you’ll be able to see both areas from the sky. For now, we’ll focus on Geyser. make your way down to that spot.

(Once there, you might find some Darkness that you can burn for extra wax, sometimes you’ll find no darnkess only wax since other players burned it before you, like in the picture below)

When the event starts, sea urchins will start erupting from the small hot spring. 4 sea urchins per minute for a total of 10 minutes. light them up to get the wax.

Turtle

Now time to make our way to the archipelago for Turtle.

Once you land there, you’ll find a turtle circling around the archipelago, leaving behind it a collectible trail (it fades away after a few seconds so you have to be right behind the turtle to collect them) the turtle will dive superficially at one point, you can follow it and collect small clams along the way that give you good amounts of wax. Then it’ll dive deeper into the water, follow it, where you can find additional small clams in the sea’s surface.

The Big Clam that gives you a huge amount of wax is only attainable when it’s sunset. At that time, the turtle will grow some darkness or dark plants on its shell. The player needs to burn all of it. Once the shell is free of any dark plants, the turtle will reward you with a big clam on the shore.
