Ninja Kiwi Archive – Monkey City Strategies for Special Tiles

Monkey City Strategies

Just about all the special tiles are much easier once you’ve got tier 3 upgrades, so lots of solutions are out there.

My Usual Strats:

Consecrated Ground

3/x Super bottom-left of centre (excellent, but optional) with 0/3 and 0/4 Wizards top-right. Whenever the going gets tough (BFBs) just summon a Phoenix, and probably sell/remake the 0/4 Wizard to summon another Phoenix. After about 4-6 Phoenix the problem will go away. Could take practice and timing to win No-Lives-Lost (NLL), so don’t expect to beat the tile the first time.

Sandstorm

A couple 2/1 Glue near the start do really well at the start of the track. A spike factory at the end. The big threat is shear volumes of bloons, so towers that don’t get overrun quickly (x/3 Glue with x/2 Mortar, 3/x Bomb) will do fine. Depending on the distance to your city-centre, you can expect to find a DDT (Lead, Black, Camo) or two in the last rounds, so make sure you’ve got 2/3 Village with the anti-blimp towers (lots of projectiles (or bonus damage) with fast attack) by then.

Sticky Sap Plant

If you’re playing on Low Quality settings (this affects the foot print of towers or the track’s boundaries) then you can fit an Ice tower between the left plant and the track. Pair a 1/1 Ice with another 1/1 Ice overlapping it along the glued-path and you’re pretty much guaranteed to permanently freeze everything. This leaves you some money to get a couple Farms going (you get half-cash from bloons on this track). The plant abilities can be used to pop Camo and White/Zebra bloons, but you might need practice to know when to use them (e.g. when the last camo enters track, or when all bloons of that round have been frozen), and it helps to have a spike factory at the end of track. There can be a couple Moabs in the land rounds, but they’ll be slowed by the glued sections of the path. Probably the easiest mission, quite doable with tier 2 upgrades.

Phase Crystal

On Low Quality you can fit an Engineer in most of the spots where the track crosses itself. The fast projectiles of 2/0 Engineer and his turrets aren’t too expensive and work great for the fast moving bloons. The crystal’s ability recharges in about 20 seconds, so use it whenever you want pretty much. The engineers along with spike factories covering the exits should buy you time to get a Farm or two going, so you probably won’t struggle. The bloons are fast but sparse, so 4/2 Ninjas work swell. There can be BFBs in the later rounds, but they’re still slow enough that well-timed Crystal use can get most/all of them (might take practice).
