Palworld – Recommended World Settings for a Pal / Exploration Oriented Experience

Recommended World Settings

  • Night Rate: 0.5

Current night cycle is too short; you have to abandon everything you do and book it to the farm area to have a chance of catching those nocturnal pals.

  • Gatherable Multiplier: 2
  • Gatherable Health: 0.5
  • Gatherable Respawn Interval: 2

The focus here is to make farming resources not a routine, but an experience. Instead of having a steady farm base which you need to visit frequently; you farm the same, with less time, and can switch farming areas frequently, leading to a refreshing experience.

Farm bases and routines are still as effective at endgame, the early to midgame are those that are most affected.

  • Pal Appearance Rate: 1.5
  • Dropped Items Multiplier: 2

Farming Pal resources is a chore (Pal oil), and farming 10 Pals is even more annoying with default Pal appearance rates.

  • Max Pals at Base: 20

It just feels right.

  • Player Stamina Depletion: 0.5
  • Pal Stamina Depletion: 0.3

200 player stamina feels just right, but these 10 points could just go towards more carry weight, which makes the game better in every possible way.

Triple the Pal stamina means you can actually enjoy traveling the map with flying Pals instead of stalling every 10 seconds of air-time.

  • Death Penalty: Only Items

Did you drop you gear? Too bad, the area you died in is tier 3 heat / cold. Now go build a new tier 3 protection just to get your stuff back.

Did you just get invaded? Too bad you didn’t build a second set of gear.

This isn’t Minecraft, good gear is very crucial and very hard to get.

I love games and I live games. Video games are my passion, my hobby and my job. My experience with games started back in 1994 with the Metal Mutant game on ZX Spectrum computer. And since then, I’ve been playing on anything from consoles, to mobile devices. My first official job in the game industry started back in 2005, and I'm still doing what I love to do.

  1. I’ve been doing everything naturally for an hour or two before cheating with cheat engine. I built a secondary base around ore, and mined like 250, then got bored and gave myself 1000. I usually skip the massive time sinks I’m not interested in – mostly because this is a hardcore early access with saves that often get corrupted, so I just try to find some of the good strategies and move on, lots of mechanics will be tweaked eventually anyway. Base building is not my favorite activity, and the ai are not working too efficiently anyway
