Keep a distance with enemies. Use your mines to not only propel yourself away from the enemies, but to propel the enemies away from you. Your default secondary will pierce through any amount of enemies. However, the damage does fall off by 50% with each pierce. The ult the does pierce but the pierce doesn’t have piercing fall off. Try and get a hang of quickscoping these noobs like the good old days on black ops 1. Having good aim is key to playing this character.

To maximize the piercing try and group enemies into one spot. You can do this with Primordial Cube, by circling around them them, or by running away from them and with numbers they can fill enough of a group to use your piercing to its potential. For better AoE, try and find Ukulele, Gasoline, Will-o-Wisp, Singularity Band, Sentient Meat Hook, and other AoE items.

The two best items is Gasoline (for being relatively common and for being a good early game AoE item) and Ukulele (A bit rarer than gas, but is extremely good for railgunner, as Ukulele does 80% total damage. Meaning, if you do an attack that does 1000 damage, the lighting will do 800 damage to up to 3 targets per proc. If you hit 5 enemies, you proc up to 15 chain lighting. You also want to use your special for ukulele, as the default has a proc coeffect of 3.0 meaning instead of 25% chance to proc its 75% and the other special has a proc co of 1.5 going from 25% to 37.5% chance.)

A tip that’s the most underrated and the one I find the most fun is to use your mines and your m1 to get up to high points and act like a sniper. The majority of enemies cant get to high points and you have plenty of cover to hide from attacks. All you have to worry about is flying enemies. Your primary’s recoil will propel you and can give you a lot of mobility.

Heres an example:

You can do the high ground trick almost at any high point. With higher attack speed means more recoil for m1 and more recoil means more movement. There is a skybox that will teleport you back down. This sky box can vary.

One more thing, if you are running runald and kjaros band, dont run Shuriken on railgunner. Shuriken can proc band, but it is weak in comparison to your secondary or special and will hinder potentially big damage from those abilities by stealing band procs.
