Slapshot: Rebound – Useful Tips and Tricks

Gameplay Tips for New Players

  • Tip to all new players, dont just hit the puck as soon as you touch it, try to hold on to it and pass it to a teammate. When your tm8 has the puck go out for a pass dont just sit in and around your net. Dont dump it every chance you get. Go to practice mode and just practice moving around with the puck. Think before you slap.
  • Try to control the puck with your body before you incorporate the stick. Make use of spacebar (stop button) to get bumped around less.
  • When you’re the goalie in a 1v1, don’t just chill on the goal line. Move up to cut the distance. This way, you can cover more of the goal and make it tougher for the other guy to score.
  • Also, learn to shoot fast when you gotta. Some players only practice shooting off a dribble, and they’re lost without it. Like, when there’s an open goal, they waste time dribbling instead of just scoring. They end up giving defenders time to get back and block the shot.

How to get better at bumping

Most of bumping is just timing and stick positioning, most of the time you wanna try and position your stick on the inside of the other persons stick to get more power in your bumps. you also wanna time the bumps for the best results because if you bump to early you’ll get flung and if you bump to late they wont have any power on them. when bumping also make sure to hold space

Tips for puck control

Try doing drills in practice mode where you just keep the puck on your stick. If that’s difficult, try controlling it with just your body and ignore the stick for now. Then start incorporating things like lifting your stick over the puck.

I would also suggest practicing lifting your stick over the puck back and forth while standing still to get that muscle memory down and then incorporate that when moving.

How to shoot straight ahead

After playing this game for a few hours, my top tip is to really watch your angles and which way you’re facing. Spend some time in practice mode to nail down the basics and get the hang of the physics. There’s a learning curve for sure. Even after 30 hours, I’m still figuring things out. My movement’s getting smoother, but I still miss wide open nets sometimes. I’m on an Xbox One controller, and you can definitely spot the players using mouse and keyboard.

Also, mess with your camera settings until you find what works best for you. I play more defensively, so I zoom out my camera and tilt it higher for a better overview. Just put in a few hours and be patient with yourself as you learn the ropes.
