Determining the Fastest Path to the Portal
Minimaps are organised in such a way that in function of their layout, they will be placed differently in their frame.
As you can see in this example, there are two enemy rooms, one of which directly leads to the portal. If you look at the frame in which the minimap is set, you can see that in the first picture, there is more vacant space at the right side of the frame than on top. This means that the correct room is the rightmost one, as shown in the second picture.
This means that whenever you don’t know which room leads directly to the portal, look at how the minimap is placed on its frame: the room with the most available space will always be the correct one.
This method works in all situations, no matter the room layout.
