Quick Guide to Export Your Galaxies as Maps
By Grumpy Koala.
Stellarmaps is a Github application that allows you to export any Stellaris save file into a stylised map PNG. All you have to do is the following:
- Go here:
https://github.com/MichaelMakesGames/stellarmaps/releases
- Scroll down to “Assets”. If you’re on Windows, click the setup.exe file. If you’re on Mac, click the .dmg file.
- Download, install, all that jazz.
Once you have the app open, go to the Save Game tab and scroll to find the save you want. In the tab beneath it you can pick a particular date depending on where you’ve saved or autosaved. If it’s an ironman save, you can only select the latest date on the save file, just like in-game.
Click Load Save, and customize the interactive map to your heart’s content. The Terra Incognita option near the bottom will allow you to enable or disable the map reflecting how much you the player have explored the galaxy. For a map that looks more aesthetically pleasing in my opinion, go down to Miscellaneous and select Circular Galaxy Borders.
Union Mode is also available near the top. You can also select Bypass Links which will make the app automatically draw high contrast lines between wormhole pairs, as well as identify any systems with gateways.
Press Export on the top right, pick a resolution and zoom, and then export as PNG. You’re done. Enjoy your map!

That concludes the guide, hope you found it helpful!
This is actually a really good program
Thoroughly enjoy, I find it’s much more coherent and easy to understand than the actual game map, so I like to use it to plan out some of my next actions when I can’t hop on the game itself
