• You can also use them to keep track of what you have and where. Each cache you have have will show up on your journal page and you can make notes as to what’s inside.

Besides ridding the map of annoying stones, you can use them in a few locations to block off the entrances to caves or porches when predators are an issue. I often use them in HRV and coastal highway to create protected hunting areas to hunt bear.

The only other reason to use one is in BI. Placed on the ground near the broken pier at the canary, it allows you to transfer items up to the milling machine without having to carry them up the rope and parkour course. You drop all the stuff you want to gunsmith or repair at the milling machine in the rock cache. Then you can easily climb up the rope unencumbered and then retrieve the items once you are on the pier.
