Overview of Enhancement Items

The Swordsmen X: Survival has several options for improving gear and weapon stats:

ItemGear
Armour PlatesUsed for armour: Head, clothes, trousers, and shoes.
Sharpening StonesUsed for melee weapons.
Spirit Stones and GemsArmour and melee weapons

NB: Accessories, masks, bows, and arrows cannot be enhanced.

The enhancement effects of Armour Plates and Sharpening Stones depend on their level: From 1 (the lowest) to 9 (the highest). These two types of enhancement items are very common and can be found in chests and boxes or looted from monsters. The higher the level of the zone, the higher level of the patches and sharpening stones.

Zone level can be determined from the levels of monsters enhabiting it: The HP gauge of every monster has a circle with a Chinese numeral indicating its level (bosses are the only exception):

  • 一 1
  • 二 2
  • 三 3
  • 四 4
  • 五 5
  • 六 6
  • 七 7

NB: There are no level 7 and 8 Armour Plates and Sharpening Stones. Level 9 follows level 6.

The enhancement effects of the Spirit Stones depend on their colour (see below). Blue Spirit Stones are the easiest to obtain: They are a relatively common drop when mining high-level ores. Red, Green, and Yellow Spirit Stones are uncommon drops from monsters (including bosses) and chests/boxes in high-level zones.

Gems are lesser versions of Spirit Stones. Small Saphire is a common drop when mining Iron ore with mid or higher-tier tools. Red and Yellow Lingshi Fragments and Little Emerald are drops from low and mid-tier boxes/chests and monsters (including mini-bosses).

Gear Enhancement Steps

The enhancement process is very easy and does not require any special preparations, tools, or skills. Enhanced gear can be re-enhanced by applying a new enhancement item. The old enhancement will be permanently replaced by a new one.

Follow these steps to enhance gear:

  1. Move enhancement items and gear to the inventory. Equipped gear can be enhanced without unequipping.
  2. Right click on an enhancement item (Armour Plate, Sharpening Stone, Spirit Stone, or Gem): The inventory view will automatically switch to the gear tab (marked with the sword icon).
  3. Left click on the item you wish to enhance
  4. Follow the prompts and choose ‘Confirm’

If you made a mistake and chose the wrong item or changed your mind, close inventory or press ESC to abort the enhancement process.

Armour Plates

Armour Plates are enhancement options for armour: Head, clothes, trousers, and shoes. The effects are the same for all armour pieces.

There are three types of plates in the game:

  • increase HP by [modifier up to 110] (look for this hanzi in the description of the effects 血 *)
  • increase internal injury defence (Qi defence) by [modifier from 1 to 6] (look for this hanzi in the description of the effects )
  • increase trauma defence (Physical defence) by [modifier from 1 to 6] (look for this hanzi in the description of the effects )

血 means ‘blood’ or ‘health’ in Chinese, if you see it in a game term it is likely that it is somehow related to HP

Sharpening Stones

Sharpening stones are enhancement options for melee weapons. Bows and arrows cannot be enhanced.

There are 2 types of sharpening stones:

  • increase internal injury (Qi) damage by [modifier from 1 to 9] (look for this hanzi in the description of the effects )
  • increase trauma (Physical) damage by [modifier from 1 to 9] (look for this hanzi in the description of the effects )
