The full guide on completing the community center season-by-season.
Guide to Community Center
Preamble
This guide will show you how to efficiently complete each bundle in the community center. Players often don’t know when to gather certain items in the community center, or get overwhelmed and leave out important season specific items. In this guide, I’ll lay out what needs to be done in each season so that players don’t end up having to wait a year for season specific items. Not only the items needed to acquire per season will be shown, but also how to get each of them, as well as an efficient time to get the items.
Different types of items will be divided into groups based on how they are obtained. These groups include, but are not limited to, farming, mining, fishing, foraging, and miscellaneous.
Multi-Season items will be listed in the earliest season available, yet all season items will have their own category.
Note that the community center is not guaranteed to be possible to complete year one due to the fact that the travelling merchant is not guaranteed to sell a red cabbage seed. Also, please note that this guide mentions locations such as the secret forest or other non-obvious locations, which may not be known to newer players. If you come across an area that you don’t know the location of, please look it up. This guide is not meant to teach players the map.
Mushroom/Fruit Bat Cave
Depending on whether you chose the mushroom or fruit bat cave option, certain items will be easier and some much harder. Personally, I recommend the fruit bat option for community center completion otherwise you’ll have to plant fruit trees. If you choose the mushroom cave option, then plant the following fruit trees that are bought from Pierre: Pomegranate Tree and Apple Tree. The other trees are optional in larger bundles such as the Artisan bundle which has needs 5 of 12 items. The mushroom cave won’t really help you at all since you can get the mushrooms in the mines while looking for other items.
Spring
Foraging
All foraged plants can be found on the green grass in Cindersap Forest, the path to Robin’s house, parts of Pelican town, and many other places.
- Leek – An uncommon foraged plant. Used in the Spring Foraging bundle in the Crafts Room.
- Wild Horseradish – A slightly uncommon foraged plant. Used in the Spring Foraging bundle in the Crafts Room.
- Dandelion – A common foraged plant. Used in the Spring Foraging bundle in the Crafts Room.
- Daffodil – A common foraged plant. Used in the Spring Foraging bundle in the Crafts Room.
Farming
I recommend that you buy and plant the seeds for all of the needed crops once they become available, which is usually the start of the season.
- Parsnip – One parsnip is needed for the Spring Crops bundle in the Pantry. The seeds are available for purchase at Pierre’s General Store for 20g, and take 4 days to grow. Plan accordingly.
- Potato – One potato is needed for the Spring Crops bundle in the Pantry. The seeds are available for purchase at Pierre’s General Store for 50g, and take 6 days to grow.
- Cauliflower – One cauliflower is needed for the Spring Crops bundle in the Pantry. The seeds are available for purchase at Pierre’s General Store for 80g, and take 12 days to grow.
- Green Bean – One green bean is needed for the Spring Crops bundle in the Pantry. The starters are available for purchase at Pierre’s General Store for 60g, and take 10 days to grow.
- Gold Star Parsnips – 5 gold parsnips will be used in the quality crops bundle. Since these have to be gold quality, it can be rather difficult sometimes to acquire 5 early on. Please refer to the following article from the Stardew Valley Wiki for reference on the chances to get quality crops without using fertilizer.
Fishing
- Sunfish – Found in rivers from 6am to 7pm on sunny days. Used in the River Fish bundle in the Fish Tank.
- Shad – Found in rivers from 9am to 2am on rainy days. Used in the River Fish bundle in the Fish Tank.
- Catfish – Found in rivers and the pond inside the secret woods from 6am to 12am on rainy days. Used in the River Fish bundle in the Fish Tank.
- Sardine – Found in the ocean from 6am to 7pm. Used in the Ocean Fish bundle in the Fish Tank.
- Eel – Found in the ocean from 4pm to 2am on rainy days. Used in the Night Fish bundle in the Fish Tank.
Summer
Foraging
- Sweet Pea – A common foraged plant used in the Summer Foraging bundle in the Crafts Room.
- Spice Berry – A common foraged plant used in the Summer Foraging bundle in the Crafts Room.
- Grape – A slightly uncommon foraged plant used in the Summer Foraging bundle in the Crafts Room.
- Fiddlehead Fern – An uncommon foraged plant found in the secret forest used in the Chef’s Bundle on the Bulletin Board.
Farming
- Blueberry – One blueberry is needed for the Summer Crops bundle in the Pantry. The seeds can be bought from Pierre’s General Store for 80g, and take 13 days to grow.
- Melon – One melon is needed for the Summer Crops bundle in the Pantry. The seeds can be bought from Pierre’s General Store for 80g, and take 12 days to grow.
- Hot Pepper – One hot pepper is needed for the Summer Crops bundle in the Pantry. The seeds can be bought from Pierre’s General Store for 40g, and take 5 days to grow.
- Tomato – One tomato is needed for the Summer Crops bundle in the Pantry. The seeds can be bought from Pierre’s General Store for 50g, and take 11 days to grow.
- Gold Star Melons – 5 gold star melons are needed for the Quality Crops bundle in the Pantry. Remember that getting gold star crops is a very low chance early on. Refer to link from the spring crops to plan accordingly.
- Gold Star Corn – 5 gold star corn is needed for the Quality Crops bundle in the Pantry. Remember that getting gold star crops is a very low chance early on. Refer to link from the spring crops to plan accordingly. Since Summer requires a lot of farming to be done besides just cash crops, don’t worry if you can’t do all the gold star corn. It’s a multi-season crop and will stay alive in fall if you plant it late into summer. Also, note that you need one corn of any quality for the Fall Crops bundle, so be sure to keep at least on extra.
- Poppy – One poppy is needed for the Chef’s Bundle on the Bulletin Board. The seeds can be bought from Pierre’s General Store for 100g, and take 7 days to grow.
- Sunflower – One sunflower is needed for the Dye Bundle on the Bulletin Board. The seeds can be bought from Pierre’s General Store for 200g, and take 8 days to grow. Although this is a multi-season crop, and you could wait until fall, you only need one seed so shouldn’t be a problem.
- Red Cabbage – This is the one item that is not guaranteed to be possible to get in your first year. The reason for this is that it’s purchased from the travelling merchant on Fridays or Sundays near the entrance to the secret woods. Make sure to check the travelling merchant on those days for the seeds. If you get unlucky and don’t get the seeds, then Pierre will sell them to you in spring of year two onward. The red cabbage is used in the Dye Bundle on the Bulletin Board.
- Wheat – Ten Wheat is needed for the Fodder bundle on the Bulletin Board. The seeds can bought from Pierre’s General Store for 10g, and take 4 days to grow. This crop is multi-season (Fall and Summer), so if you have trouble cultivating the large amount of crops Summer requires, then you can wait until Fall.
Fishing
- Pufferfish – Found in the ocean from 12pm to 4pm on sunny days, and is used in the Specialty Fish bundle in the Fish Tank.
- Tuna – Found in the ocean from 6am to 7pm regardless of weather, and is used in the Ocean Fish bundle in the Fish Tank.
- Red Snapper – Found in the ocean from 6am to 7pm regardless of weather, and is used in the Ocean Fish bundle in the Fish Tank.

- Walleye – This fish can be found in rivers, the forest pond and lakes from 12pm to 2am during rainy weather only. Used in the Night Fish bundle in the Fish Tank.
Winter
Foraging
- Winter Root – Unlike most foraged goods, this item cannot be obtained by simply picking them up around the world. It can be dropped by blue slimes during any season in the mines from floors 40-79 (the ice/iron floors). Another way to get it is by tilling soil or hoeing artifact spots in Winter. The winter root is used in the Winter Foraging bundle in the Crafts Room.
- Snow Yam – This item is obtained through the same way as the winter root, except it doesn’t drop from slimes. In other words, hoeing soil and artifact spots. The Snow Yam is used in the Winter Foraging Bundle in the Crafts Room.
- Crocus – This foraged plant is found the conventional way like most other foraged goods. Simply look around the world in Cindersap Forest, the Backwoods, or in some parts of town. Its used in the Winter Foraging bundle in the Crafts Room.
- Crystal Fruit – Found in the same way as the crocus, however, it can also be dropped by dust sprites on floors 40-79 in the mines. The Crystal Fruit is used in the Winter Foraging bundle in the Crafts Room.
- Nautilus Shell – The Nautilus Shell can be found exclusively on the beach during Winter, and is used in the Field Research bundle on the Bulletin Board.
Farming
Since you can’t plant seeds regularly in Winter, you won’t be able to grow anything new. If you’ve unlocked the greenhouse and have unused seeds from before, then feel free to plant them now while you have less farming work to do. Winter seeds are a good cash crop though, and are the only thing that can be planted outside during Winter in Pelican Town.
Note
Since everything that you need to do in Winter can easily be done on your very first day in Winter, there is a lot of time left to gather other items. Plenty of items can be gathered during any season, and because Winter is probably your least busy season, take this time to get the any season items, which are in the next category.
Any Season
Since none of these items require any specific season, you can work on getting them whenever you feel like. Bundles that have optional items will be listed as their own category for ease of organizing.

Conclusion
If you’ve followed along and gathered all of the items in all of the seasons, then you should have completed the community center. If you’re missing a few items, its likely because you accidentally skipped over something or were going to save something for later then forgot. I checked the guide multiple times to make sure it had anything.
