Introduction

Annoyed at the prospect of driving around aimlessly or using the falling car glitch for days and days in order to get the Explorer Achievement (drive 1000 miles) in Jimmy’s Vendetta?

So was I, but I pulled through and watched movies and series while my Ascot Bailey was falling through the floor for 30+ hours.

Of course I tried the uploaded saves of the original Mafia 2 Classic that are supposed to start you off at 995+ miles, but none of them imported the game statistics correctly (all started at 0 miles and most other stats had insane values).

Thus I saved my game at 998 miles and will share this save here with you, so you don’t have to suffer through this horrible achievement.

Save File

Backup your own saves and profile.dat! Since other things like destroy 100 cars and headshot 100 enemies is already done in my stats, I do not know if you can gain those achievements with my profile.dat – so revert back to your own after you have the Explorer Achievement!

Copy the files from the zip to:

How to Use

I think you should only need the profile.dat, since that’s where the statistics live, but I included the Jimmy’s Vendetta save as well, just in case. However when using my sav2.dat it could happen, that it tells you that you are missing DLC. You get the Made Man DLC from linking a 2K-Account. I do not know if not owning the Trilogy and thus missing Tommy’s Cab etc. will also prevent you from loading it. But again, if you create your own save and only replace the profile.dat, it should import the 998 miles driven without issues.

After you copied the files, launch your game, navigate to Jimmy’s Vendetta and Continue your save file or mine (slot 1). Once the save loaded, hit ESC and check the game statistics. If it worked and it says 998 miles driven, go get a car and drive the remaining 2 miles (should take you less than 5 minutes). I did have to drive 1001 miles for the achievement to trigger, so there could be a slight delay – expect it and keep driving a little longer until it pops up. Make sure your steam overlay is active so you see when it happens.

I hope this works and I can save you guys 30+ hours of (component) lifetime.
