Guide to Start Shendao Cultivator
So, to start Shendao. We need a Shendao law. The Shendao Law most people will encounter early on will be the Celestial Thunder Salvation Sutra. It will look something like this.
You get this law after establishing an Agency in Mt. South and raising the Main Hall to Level 2.
You will also notice that the stat requirements are extremely low.
This is because you can cultivate Shendao Laws with anyone, regardless of their stats.
But if you want to avoid a lot of problems that will show up when cultivating a Shendao Law.
There are 4 things that you should consider when picking your cultivator.
- Intelligence should be 8 or higher.
- Social Ability should be 80 or higher.
- Luck should be as high as you can get it.
- No Positive or Negative Mood Character Traits. (This is not required, but good to have)
It’s a fairly lengthy explanation to why all of these matter, but in short.
- There is a Shendao breakthrough that requires 8 or more Intelligence to complete. If you do not have at least 8 Intelligence. It is impossible to finish.
- You need a good social ability to be able to recruit core followers, characters who will later boost your abilities through the use of special buildings once you promote them.
Having a low social ability makes recruiting core followers difficult or impossible if you are extremely bad.
Remember, this is social ability not skill. Social Ability is Charisma + Social Skill. Ideally, you want your social ability to be 80 or higher.
- High luck makes one of the later Shendao Breakthroughs finish faster.
- There is a mechanic in Shendao Cultivation called Distress which adds up the numbers of your positive and negative moods. The higher this combined number. The harder it is for you to make breakthroughs.
While this isn’t an extensive list. This means there are some of the character traits you should try to avoid when picking a Shendao cultivator.
These are traits you should avoid.
Traits that give a negative or positive mood buff.
- Pessimist: -15 permanent mood buff
- Optimist: +15 permanent mood buff
- Unhappy: -15 permanent mood buff
- Memory loss: +30 permanent mood buff
- Science Believer: +20 permanent mood buff
Traits that increase total distress by a %:
- Sensitive: +30%
- Ill-tempered: + 30%
- Artist: +20%
- Eager: +10%
- Race of Survivors: +30%
- Dragon Blood: +30%
- Creative: +20%
These are traits that are good for Shendao
Traits that reduce mood effects.
- Numbness: -30%
- Good-tempered: -30%
- Warrior: -20%
- Meek: -20%
After you have considered all of the requirements for Shendao.
It’s time to choose our cultivator. For the purpose of this guide, we will follow the journey of Yang Shangzhen on his path of Shendao.
He looks like this.
You can see he isn’t perfect. But he does have two good character traits. Which is Warrior and Good-Tempered.
And the rest of his stats aren’t horrible. So he’s definitely Shendao material.
First, we will boost his stats using body miracles, eternity pills, and bane pills.
We only do this because Yang Shangzhen’s intelligence is at 6. If the person you picked is already at 8 intelligence. You can skip this step.
After body miracles and pills. He is looking much better and younger.
He is now ready to be promoted.
So we promote him and get a new character menu that looks like this.
You will notice a lot of different things compared to a normal qi cultivator, so let’s break this down one at a time. First, let’s start with how you gain cultivation.
Click the cultivation button.
You should get a screen that looks like this.
To gain cultivation we need something called Belief.
Belief is pretty much inspiration. It can be gained automatically later on. But for anyone starting their first Shendao. You will need to adventure to one of your agencies and collect it personally.
So we send Yang Shangzhen to adventure and get something like this.
We then exit out of the cultivation screen and return to our character menu.
To turn belief to cultivation. We use the Celestial Meditation Miracle.
This will send your character to cultivate at their bed or cushion. After some time has passed you will gain cultivation.
