Baldur’s Gate 3 – Missed the Moon Lantern (The 2nd Act Solution)

If you, like me, first studied the map, and then went to conquer the plot.

How to Solve Missed the Moon Lantern Problem

Сrеdit gоеs to AVE!

How-To

I missed a spider with the moon lantern (I mean, he and the caravan went their own way, I didn’t touch them). I thought there was something else besides him to go through. I didn’t find it.

If you have the same problem, there’s my solution: run head-on and use teleportation arrows (you can buy them from merchants. One is definitely in the camp).

At the beginning, I used a “fast ran” to increase the distance for the teleport reference point, ran to the maximum, completed the move; just ran to the end of the action, shot an arrow to the farthest point and completed the move (you can do the opposite).

So we need to run through the customs corridor and turn left to the Moon Towers. Protective lanterns and a teleportation circle are lit at the entrance to transport our comrades.

The whole party may not waste precious arrows because there are no primary cutscenes. Comrades react at a distance, you don’t miss anything.

That’s all the solution to the problem!

  1. So if you get to the moon towers and don’t attack anyone there, take the quest to find balthazar, you’ll get a moon lantern

    • “Heavy” shadow doesn’t give passage without a lantern or pixie defense.
I’ve only found a broken lantern without a pixie (i.e. useless).

To take the quest to find Balthazar you need to get to the towers initially, but how do you do that without a lantern? (Protection from dense shadows) This is just a hint if the spider with a lantern was missed.

        • Mintara’s spider lyre didn’t work without the goblin cutscene when crossing the mountains.

I don’t know why, I thought something should have happened, but

  2. At the very beginning of Act 2 (where Gale’s friend (the old man) is talking to you), there is this moon lantern.
And there’s two more scattered throughout act 2.

    • If you go “up”, he will meet you with a caravan. If you go “underground”, you may come across him near the ruined buildings (to the right of the center of the map; just follow the path straight ahead) or you may be directed by the harpists from the camp on a quest.
