DAVE THE DIVER – Tips for Night Diving/Fishing

Night Diving/Fishing Tips

Night fishing isn’t lucrative, but it’s easy to farm a toy hammer in that environment since there is almost always a yellow chest to the right and down or directly below you.

Most of the time it provides a weapon, and that weapon is most often the toy hammer or the baseball bat, and you can save scum (alt+f4 and reload the save) for the toy hammer. So that’s an easy way to deal with most of the enemies.

The tranq rifle when unlocked is probably the best weapon you have for catching gishes at around that point of the game. You should avoid the swarms of attacking gishes for the most part, you can use a net to catch them but the net gun isn’t great at that point in the game so I’d only say to do it once for the card or just to leave that for later when you have better equipment.

You’ll have to come back later whenever you unlock drones, and even later when you unlock crab catching. Not sure about the macrelas.

If you haven’t unlocked the ability to unlock any weapon upgrades at all, just save scum for the toy hammer. This area will only be difficult for a small portion of the game, for the most part you just want to get gold on every fish here, and make sure to have 2 of each species whenever you unlock the fish farm.

Since you waste a third of the night’s profits doing this, it’s only practical for the short time that you first unlock it before events start to cause expensive fish to appear in the blue hole shallows.
