Death Must Die – Best Way to Win Your First Run

Best Way to Win Your Run

1) Pick The Best Upgrades: Don’t try to plan ahead which god you’ll have. In your first runs, you have very few rerolls and alterations, so pick the upgrade that give power to your character right now. With trial and errors, you’ll figure out what works best…(for first runs it’s… The gods that first appears when you play your first runs… Yeah it’s called gamedesign).

2) Plan Fights Ahead: Game has important timers, with difficulty peaks. A run is simply moving around the map between those timers finding shrines and stuff to handle the next timer (4 mn, 7mn, 14mn, 19 and 20 minutes, for the most important ones, it kinda depends of your build too…). Don’t waste invulnerability or bunny on easy fights. Keep it for the time it matters.

3) The Best Way To Heal Is To Not Getting Hit: You’ll probably agressively reroll and try to get (This god, you know which one) for life regen, but it’s not always the best deal. In fact, if you’re getting hit a lot, it’s probably because you are way too agressive. When you attack, you run way slower. You don’t need a dash to avoid most of ennemies attacks until later (when the AOE are far greaters).

So don’t rush to use your dash for nothing, maybe just moving behind the ennemy is enough. Stop attacking, run, stay alive.

4) You’ll Fail… : Don’t blame the RNG, blame yourself. Sometime you get bad upgrades, but it’s manageable with clever choices and good placement, even with the gods you consider the worst. It can be frustrating…

5) But You’ll Finaly Succed: Because it’s just a matter of time and a bit of knowledge.

I love games and I live games. Video games are my passion, my hobby and my job. My experience with games started back in 1994 with the Metal Mutant game on ZX Spectrum computer. And since then, I’ve been playing on anything from consoles, to mobile devices. My first official job in the game industry started back in 2005, and I'm still doing what I love to do.

  1. It’s more efficient to start a new run if your first 2-3 talents (after rerolls) aren’t what you planned for. I was getting almost no progression past the Necro boss until I started doing that, and with a really good setup I got the act boss down pretty quickly.
Oh, I forgot to point out how important luck is when finding world buffs. Some of them are insanely strong.

  2. Best way to win I find is run and dash around the map to collect shrines, if you find one with +60%XP or similar then stop and kill monsters, once it’s over move on.

Don’t forget to pick Mort’s Lifelink skill if you get the chance.
