Death Must Die – Skadi Warrior: Dash Build and Ball Lightning

D100 Skadi Ball Lightning Possibility Guide

A dash build revolving around Ball Lightning, while using Possibility (unique) to have all the gods in one run. Hence the name. It’s a pretty novel build so I’ll share it here.

The idea is to use Leigong’s dash and spend most of the game as a spark of electricity that takes no damage, dishes out a lot, and moves pretty fast. Ball Lightning duration and CD starts at the exact same time, so if you have longer duration than CD, well that translated to basically 0 CD. The only downtime is when you’re trying to activate the state again.

The build does not care about any legendary blessing. Or master rarity. Even adept blessing works nicely to clear the run.

Skill

For the skill tree, max out everything that doesn’t say attack/strike/summon. In total that is 35 points. Then Wanderer for our capstone, which is the build enabler.

Item

  • Stats to prioritize: Reroll & Alteration, Dash Damage, Dash Duration, Passive exp, Heal on Kill, Curse of Weakness (torso).
  • Other useful stats: Upgrade to Master (relic), +cast slot (belt), exp%, cooldown reduction.

Uniques:

  • Possibility (Namesake of build. Access to all deities).
  • Apprentice Ring (Helps you level up more. Questionable on other characters, but arguably BiS for Wanderer Skadi).

Disclaimer: Currently there’s an RNG bug that hurts the build. The Ball Lightning state ends prematurely if a deity talks, which leaves the player vulnerable for the next while. Can’t avoid this bug, but build attempts to mitigate the risk with cc.

Gods

A long list. You want 1 thing from every god, plus some. Sorted them based on priority. Pick these blessings immediately regardless of rarity. Bonus ones can wait.

Leigong

  • Ball Lightning
  • Urgency (bonus)

Try to get Ball Lightning immediately at level 2

Summer

  • Enkindling

Gets the build online. Note that Enkindling can’t appear until you fill your dash slot, so get Ball Lightning asap.

Krom

  • Rampage
  • Haul (bonus)

How we clear bosses. Same as Enkindling, Rampage can’t appear until you fill your dash slot

Mort

  • Sudden Death
  • Execution (bonus)

Sudden Death helps a lot with mobbing + saves you in the dangerous downtime. Execution doesn’t do much, but it’s probably better than using alteration.

Winter

  • Frost Ring
  • Shivers (bonus)

Frost ring is our best defense during downtime. No point in leveling it up, so pick Shivers up afterwards

Justice

  • Reprisal
  • Piety, Protection (bonus)

Try to alterate out of Justice if you get offered her multiple times early

Ninh

  • Persistence
  • Landslide (bonus…-ish)

Persistence can’t appear till you pick Frost Ring.

Time

  • Time Field

Moirai

  • Serendipity
  • Curiosity

Serendipity helps the consistency of triggering Ball Lightning. Feel free to pick up Curiosity if it’s high-rarity

Be careful about filling your slots.

Skadi only has 2 cast slots, and one is used on Mort, so you have to pick between Landslide and Time field (Unless you have +cast slots from belt). since Ninh has a good alternative blessing in Persistence, I’d pick Time Field over it.

And Skadi also only has 2 power slots. Frost ring and Reprisal are both very powerful, so ideally we want those 2 every run, meaning no room for any other powers.

Note that all the cast/power are basically for CC. No need to be concerned about their damage.

Note: I have a lot of dash duration on item, but tbh any dash duration beyond 100% is pretty minor here. There’s just not that many other things the build cares about. A +1 cast belt would definitely be more optimal.

I hope the above information was helpful. Happy gaming!
