Farthest Frontier – How to Deal with Raiders

Tips to Deal with Raiders

Сrеdit gоеs to Alexaraas!

First of all, I always try to pick a place near the edge of the map (and especially the corner or near a lake or a big mountain) so it can be easier to defend. This way you can use mountains to terraform and basically “close” some areas to make them attack from a specific place only (sorry but i don’t know how else to explain this). You can also build roads going outside your city to kinda “guide” them wherever you want

In the early game, hunters and a couple of towers with walls around them should be more than enough.

I usually take my time before upgrading to Tier 3 because they really become stronger. So first gather lots of stones for the upgraded walls and whatever else you might need, and when you feel ready, then upgrade.

The trick is to keep in mind that the raiders will focus your Trading Post, Banks, Storehouses, armories, foundries and blacksmiths. So try to put these closer together so it’ll be easier to defend. They also focus upgraded markets but that’s a different story.

Don’t be afraid to build more towers than you might need. You only need to keep guards/soldiers for a few months until the raid is done. Raiders usually attack every two years between like February and June/July. Make sure you buy swords, crossbows and armors and make some shields, they really make a huge difference! And build walls. A lot of them.

Some people even make “labyrinths” with walls which are basically a death trap, they just keep running while getting shot by the towers. And just focus the rams with either hunters or guards (from the towers) whenever you can.
