Useful Tips for Beginners
A general tip would be to look at everything. While some are lore, there’s quite a number of them that will explain how the thing work like an anvil or a crafting kit.
If you feel lost, just know that the game doesn’t hold much of your hand when it comes to direction, so it expects you to explore on your own pace. If you eventually find an encounter you find too hard, you can always mark the spot on your map and come back later.
For character building, it’s best to put points into 3-4 main stats rather than spreading them too thin. Each main class is designed to do one specific job well, so when choosing your second class, pick something that fills in what your main class is missing. For example, you could add ranged attacks to a melee character, choose abilities that help you move around better, or select skills that don’t use MP so you have options when your magic runs out.
It can be tricky to find monster encounters that an early game party can handle. Stay near the capitals and build up wealth by selling trade goods. Pick up some monster den guild quests when you have a full landing party who has weapons. As you gain XP, it’s probably a good idea to build up a healer (Sage, Warden).
Don’t worry about building your party optimally. Having a general theme for each character is a good idea, but spreading out within that theme is fine since you can usually use up all your stars on things that benefit your build even if it’s a class you won’t be using abilities from at all.
