Legion TD 2 – Mastermind Strategy Tips

Tips to Mastermind Strat

In general, every roll/strategy can be played with every mastermind option, so its hard to give any specific advice. But some I could give are:

Castle

Try to play safe early. Stay a bit higher value, send more frequently and try to scale into the lategame. Pick units with strong lategame synergies like:

  • Soul Gate + Antler

or

  • Disciple + Sacred Steed

Or good lategame carry units like Lord Of Death

  • or Radiant Halo.

Cartel

2 options:

  • A: Starve your opponent and try to kill them with 2-3 big sends in the early- or midgame or
  • B: Push workers really aggressively and send a lot of income mercs+kingups, to get a big earlygame lead and be ahead, even after your income penalty after wave 10.

Good units are strong early- and midgame units/combinations like GreenDevil / Fire Elemental + Windhawk / Nightmare + Butcher / Priestess of the Abyss + Masked Spirit.

Fiesta

Try to push as many workers as possible early game, even if you leak. All leaks <40% are good, as long as you teammate can catch them. But you don’t need to force leaks every wave, just playing really aggressive is enough.

Good openers are: Consort / Wind Hawk / Chloro Pixie + 2*Seedling because all of them leak very small on wave 1 to no send or any 5 worker opener like Wileshroom / Gateguard / Oathbreaker.

Chaos

Try to build in a way where you can get as many good synergies from aura units as possible.

Redraw

Use your first 1 or 2 redraws at wave 1 to get a good earlygame roll. Use the other ones to find good lategame synergies.

Lock-in

Use to learn a specific unit or to open with a unit that you enjoy and that is strong at the moment

Cash-out

Very versatile. Allows most builds to get one extra worker than with other playstyles. Don’t fall onto the trap of opening t6 units all the time because this openers are very slow (one good one is Holy Avenger as long as you have a Butcher for wave 5).

Greed

Very versatile and the “basic” playstyle that is always viable.

Yolo

Good to learn to play sub optimal rolls. Might not be the best in a tournament setting but for normal ranked and if you want to improve at the game, it is very good. Don’t be afraid to use your reroll on wave 1, if you don’t have a t1 and t2 or your roll is really bad.
