Shop & Albums Guide
The left-most tab at the bottom of the home screen leads to the Marvel SNAP Shop. You’ll want to familiarize yourself with the shop as it is something you will visiting each and every day!
There is a lot to cover here as the shop segments into various sections that will directly interact with and affect your progression and economy in other facets of the game. The central points to consider are:
- Daily offer variant shop
- Token Shop
- Free S3 Claim
- Fast Upgrades
- Credits
- Gold
- Bundles
- Albums
- Cosmetic Shop
- Vibranium Offers
- Collectible Borders
Daily Offer
The Daily Offer section of the shop is a 24-hour timer that refreshes at 9:00 PM. Within this section of the shop, you will find a mix of 8 rare, super-rare variant, and spotlight variants (released in game for at least 1 year) for cards in your collection, which cost 700 gold, 1200 gold, and 2400 gold respectively. Newer variants are guaranteed to appear on some days, while variants featured in albums (signified with a book icon) are more likely to appear during resets. Additionally, the first slot of the daily offer section will also contain a slot for a Premium Mystery Variant (PMV) for 800 gold.
PMVs pull from a pool of all eligible unowned rare and super-rare variants, excluding pixel variants (i.e., you will not receive a pixel variant). Every 9 PMVs opened will reward 6 rare variants and 3 super-rare variants in a random order.
- If there are no eligible rare variants to receive, the player will instead receive a rare avatar they do not own.
- If there are no eligible super-rare variants to receive, the player will instead receive any eligible avatar they do not own.
- If there are no eligible avatars to receive, the player will receive 310 random boosters instead.
PMVs will occasionally change into Featured Mystery Variants (FMV), which are discussed below.
Occasionally, the daily offer section will promote “shop take-overs”, featuring a select artist for the season. During these days, all players will possess identical shops for the day. Similarly, random personal shop take-overs may also occur and players may see all 8 variants from a specific category (ex: venomized variants) or artist (Dan Hipp variants).
Purchasing any item from the Daily Offer Shop will add one counter to the daily offer purchases bar. When a player makes 10 purchases, they will receive a bonus reward of 2000 collector’s tokens and one PMV. Players can receive this bonus up to 5 times per week, and their progress does not reset on any timer.
Token Shop
This section of the shop is where you can spend your Collector’s Tokens . Collector’s tokens can be used for the following: Ultimate Variants, Weekly Spotlights, and Rotating Series 4/Series 5 card. The token shop must display all items once before offering any repeats. If a player is not logged on during the shop refresh, the game will consider the variant as not shown; rather, an opportunity to see a new card or variant will have been missed. Moreover, with the exception of the Weekly Spotlight card, players can pin their offered card or variant to grant more time in making a decision or accumulating tokens.
Ultimate Variants are the highest rarity of cosmetic variants. The shop will rotate and display a random Ultimate Variant for a card you own every 8 hours, and each variant will cost 5,000 collector’s tokens. In terms of progression, it is recommended to focus on buying new cards in the latter two sections, rather than ultimate variants.
Weekly Spotlights rotate every week. These spotlights contain the new card released during that week. Depending on what series the card is introduced to, the cost to purchase the new card will vary from 3,000 (Series 4) to 6,000 (Series 5) collector’s tokens. It is notable that if you wish to unlock the spotlight variant for the new card on a given week, you may consider purchasing the card from the Token Shop first so that your spotlight cache will feature the spotlight variant in the first tier of rewards. As mentioned earlier, with the 1- year anniversary of the spotlight cache system, spotlight variants that have been released for 1 year have now begun to appear in the Daily Offer section of the shop and can be purchased for 2400 gold. See Spotlight Systems & Keys for more information.
Rotating Series 4/Series 5 cards will cycle every 8 hours. This section will only offer cards you have not unlocked yet, and like the spotlight card for the week, their price will vary depending on the series they reside in.
Free Series 3 Claim
For players who have not completed Series 3, the shop will feature a section to claim one free Series 3 card per season. This section of the shop also rotates through a randomized list of unowned cards on an 8-hour timer. Additionally, similar to variants and other cards offered in the token shop, if a player does not log on during a period where the shop has refreshed, the game will consider the card as not shown.
It should be noted that these free claims do not stack. In other words, skipping a claim for one season does not mean you can claim two cards the following season. Due to the extremely limited purchase and the high degree of variability in each player’s collection, if you are a more competitive player seeking to move up the ranks.
Mystery Series 3
Another section that will only appear for players who have not completed series 3. As advertised, players can choose to spend 1,000 collector’s tokens to obtain a random series 3 card they do not own. It is recommended that players refrain from purchasing mystery series 3 cards as the pool is quite large and the likelihood of obtaining something that will immediately benefit new players is quite low. Furthermore, collector’s tokens are a scarce resource that take a while to accumulate to the point where players can make a purchase. Thus, it is generally more favorable to spend the tokens on new cards or Series 4/5 cards.
Bonus Boosters
Every 8-hours, this section of the shop will select 3 cards from your collection that still require boosters for the next upgrade. You can purchase the next tier of upgrade for the shown cards as normal, as if you had the required amount of boosters.
Credits
Purchase credits with gold to upgrade more cards and increase your Collection Level. Players can purchase each tier of credits 3 times per day, with each unused purchase carrying over to subsequent days and capping out at 10 saved purchases. Most importantly, players can log in to claim 50 free credits with each daily reset at 10:00 PM.
Gold
Purchase gold with money to make further purchases throughout the game. Notably, patch 25.19.1 introduced the Gold Pass, which allows to obtain 300 gold immediately on purchase and then collect 50 gold per day for 30 days for 1800 gold total. Players can repurchase the gold pass to extend their pass by 30 days, up to a maximum of one year of accrued gold. Each repurchase will also grant 300 gold immediately. It is imperative to note that the gold is claimed in a similar fashion as the 50 free credits, which means that any missed gold will be lost entirely and will not be refunded.
On a brighter note, each account is subject to receiving bonus gold for their first purchase of each tier! This bonus does not expire until the player makes the purchase for that selected gold offer.
Bundles
Marvel SNAP will regularly offer premium bundles for players looking to bolster their collection with shiny new variants and/or an immediate boost to their resources. Bundles will drastically range in their offerings with possible items including: Variants, avatars, boosters, credits, gold, collector’s tokens, titles, and recently spotlight keys. Of course, the price of the bundle will vary depending on the items included.
As of the current date, the SNAP team have no current plans to bring back any bundles or their exclusive variants.
Recently, the SNAP team have created personalized “For you!” bundles which supposedly factor in previous purchases to recommend personalized bundles that suit your preferences. These can also vary in their cost and offerings.
For newer players, purchasing a bundle that contains a variant for a card not owned will allow you to play that card early in your decks. However, it should be noted that this is treated as “early access” to the card, as you will still be required to obtain the base card from a collector’s cache/reserve later.
Albums
Albums are a set of variants that offer unique exclusive rewards for hitting different thresholds. Each album will focus on a different category (Ex: Hellfire Gala) and any variants that belong to that category will be marked in the shop with a unique indicator. As mentioned earlier, PMVs in the daily offer section will occasionally feature an album category for a limited time. During this time, every 12 Featured Mystery Variants (FMV) opened will reward 3 variants of the featured album, 6 rare variants and 3 super-rare variants in a random order. Meeting the thresholds in an album can reward you with: an avatar from that themed category, boosters, 2,000 credits, 1,000 or 2,000 collector’s tokens, a variant from that category, 1 spotlight key, a PMV, a card back from that themed category, an emote.
Cosmetics Shop
A new cosmetics section was added below Daily Offers, which offers a selection of three avatars or emotes that rotate every 8 hours and are purchasable with gold. Newly added variants will have their associated avatar featured in the cosmetic shop for the first 8 hours, after which the items will be randomly selected. Available avatars can be rare or super rare variants, costing 250 gold or 400 gold respectively. Boasting a heftier price tag, emotes can be bought for 2200 gold.
Vibranium Offers
Originally a web-shop exclusive, Vibranium Offers are a limited time step-up bundle featuring a mix of free and paid rewards. All players can now claim rewards directly from the shop menu.
Collectible Borders
Players can now purchase collectible borders for 500 or 900 gold that can be applied on a character-level basis. This new cosmetic can be found in the Cosmetics Shop in each character’s Custom Card interface. Purchasing a collectible border will permanently unlock that border for the chosen character, not your account! New border styles and alternative methods of unlocking collectible borders will be added in the future.
