METAL GEAR SOLID 3: Snake Eater – Master Collection Version – Foxhound Rank Guide

Details and guide for obtaining the best rank on this game.

Guide to Foxhound Ranks

Сrеdit gоеs to Krona!

Prerequisites before Attempting

  • You need a decent controller.
  • Understand the controls and some mechanics, read the digital manual provided with the game to learn things like standing on your toes, peeking, how CQC works etc.
  • Play through the game a couple of times to get a basic understanding of what you need to do
  • Practice and Patience.

Foxhound Rank Requirements

  • Difficulty: Extreme or European Extreme (Pick Euro Extreme as the only difference is your game will instantly be over if you get an alert, and you can’t get an alert for this rank. It makes resetting and practicing much easier)
  • Time: Under 5:00 hours (Pretty Lax Requirement)
  • No Special Items.
  • Continues: 0
  • Alerts: 0
  • Under 10.5 life bars of damage.
  • 0 to 25 saves (More than enough).

I used 18 saves and they were as follows:

  • Ocelot Unit Fight
  • Ocelot Fight
  • The Pain Fight
  • Ponizovse Warehouse
  • The Fear Fight
  • The End Fight
  • Krasnogorje Mountainside

  • Zaozyorje West
  • Zaozyorje East
  • The Boss Fight
  • 0 to 20 meals eaten(You wont need to eat anything after you get the animals camo by beating ocelot non lethally, which removes hand shaking.
  • Kills: 0 (Killing people with explosive barrels and knocking them off bikes don’t count)
  • Life Meds: 0
  • NG+ items except the special items can be used to make your job easier, but this guide focuses solely on getting Foxhound on New Game.

Walkthrough

My personal foxhound rank run on this version with New Game, with extremely safe strats that you can easily replicate with decent practise.
