How to Get Access
Сrеdit gоеs to TrapShad0w13 !
Here is my guide to getting access to both the North American version of MGS1, as well as MGS1 Integral.
- Go to SteamDB and Search up Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol1. Metal Gear Solid and open the games page.
- Go to the DLCs tab and it should show you all three packs available.
- Open up the North America and Japan packs by clicking their APPID and open them in another tab.
- Once on their respective pages go to the green steam logo on the right corner where it says install.
- If on google chrome after clicking intall it’ll ask if you wish to open steam client bootstrapper. Hit open and the DLC is added to your game.
*If unsure if it has added to your library, check by opening up your game on the steam library and check it’s addons in “Manage my DLC” section.
Note: If you receive a message saying “no license” in the steam client after clicking on INSTALL, it means the DLC is already added to your account.
This can be done for MGS2 & MGS3, along with the Graphic novels for the bonus content.
I get “no license” message on steamDB, but I don’t have any “DLC” option in properties under MGS1 steam.
The only thing you have to do is change your Steam download region to Japan. It will give you both the USA and JP version of the game.
Once you do that, go to “Game properties” > DLC and you will have checkboxes to download the DLCs.
Thats all, no need to do all of that listed above. That is actually written in the game’s Steam troubleshooter, selecting the DLC you have problems with.
Once you download the DLCs you can turn back your actual download region on Steam, the DLCs won’t disappear.
This also applies for the rest of the series in the collection, in case you want other versions of them.
Nice guide, worked flawlessly and no need for any adjustments of .exe files.
You might want to add that receiving the message “no license” in the Steam client after clicking on INSTALL, simply means it IS already unlocked in your account. ^^
