If you’ve already built the saltworks, the salt itself is also a good ‘free’ export. One saltworks makes a lot of salt!

Sunflower oil, which is a very cheap and quick way to make money early, and you can sell it to a lot of the towns.

The oil workshop produces double the amount of input (25 sunflowers give 50 sunflower oil), and the 2 workers produce it very quickly. Don’t sell the sunflowers themselves.

And remember you don’t have to send couriers to other towns. They will regularly offer to trade with you, if you have a manager hired in the trade building(s).

And also, the more you sell, the larger orders they will send, so with the example of charcoal (also a quick, ‘free’ commodity) that maxter mentions, you can export a LOT of it if you keep exporting, same with other goods.

In general, the more processed the goods are, the higher prices you get. Producing and exporting a lot of warm clothes for example, will make a lot of money.

But for early game, charcoal and sunflower oil is the way to go!
