Palworld – Basic Guide on Fastest Mounts & Extra Info

This is a very simple guide on the fastest mounts in the game and some extra useful info.

Guide to Basics of the Fastest Mounts

Carry Weight Pals

Carry Weight When in Team

These DO stack!

  • Cattiva: +50
  • Lunaris: +80
  • Broncherry: +100
  • Kingpaca: +100
  • Broncherry Lvl 2 Ability (Condensed): +110

Mounts

Mount Speed

In terms of crossing a predefined distance I set up

  • Character Speed Running for reference: 15.5secs
  • Character Speed Running and Jumping using Galeclaw glider: 8secs

Note: Tested it, the Passive Speed Skills DO NOT increase pal glider speed.

  • Pyrin: 6.14secs (6.15/6.13/6.14)
  • Ragnahawk: 6.17secs (6.23/6.16/6.12)
  • Beakon: 6.59secs (6.56/6.66/6.56)
  • Fenglope: 6.91secs (6.89/6.90/6.93)
  • Rayhound: 6.93secs (6.87/6.99/6.92)
  • Univolt: 7.15secs (7.20/7.16/7.10)
  • Direhowl: 7.52secs (7.57/7.49/7.49)

Pyrin is fastest land mount.

Ragnahawk is fastest flying mount (Honestly, just best mount altogether, able to go over water without stamina loss until sprinting, able to go over land without stamina loss until sprinting, and obviously can fly).

There is nearly no competition here either.

  • Kitsun: 8.5secs
  • Elphidran: 8.5secs
  • Vanwyrm: 9secs
  • Eikthyrdeer: 9secs
  • Nitewing: 9.5secs
  • Kingpaca: 10secs
  • Arsox: 10secs
  • Dinossom: 11secs
  • Reindrix: 11secs
  • Surfent: 12secs
  • Broncherry: 16secs
  • Pyrin (Runner, Swift, Nimble): 4secs
  • Ragnahawk (Runner, Swift): 4.5secs
  • Pyrin Noct (Swift): 5secs
  • Kitsun (Swift): 7secs

  1. Jetdragon is extremely fast compared to ragnahawk though mine ragna does not have swift or runner but neither does my jetdragon so I guess it’s okay.

  2. I’ve yet to see helzephyr on any of these ranking lists, for some reason. Do people just overlook it, or is there a reason? It seems decently fast.

    • Helzephyr is a night pal, and isn’t encountered often, nor known by many players, due to that fact.
However, just based on the datamined speeds, Helzephyr is as fast as Suzaku, faster than Quivern, but still slower than Beakon or Ragnahawk.
A very cool looking mount, but doesn’t have much going for it, unfortunately.

  3. You can’t be sprinting all the time, and for people who use controllers – such as myself – it’s pretty annoying to actually do. I didn’t even know it was possible until looking at that link, who presses in the left stick if they’re not prompted?

    • That is lame, however if a sprint feature exists in a game 99.999999% of player will utilize it, most even doing so until out of stamina, meaning most are in fact sprinting all the time, or at least way more often than not.

  4. Ragnahawk is definitely not the fastest flying mount. Suzaku and Faleris are both faster, as far as I know. It wouldn’t make much sense to have more flyers unlock later on that are slower, considering it unlocks only a little past halfway to max level.

    • Suzaku is most definitely NOT faster than Ragnahawk, however Faleris IS, I just personally never encountered one in my playthrough, so I had no means of testing it.

      • Suzaku is faster, it just has a slower sprint:

        Suzaku/Suzaku Aqua – 850 run | 1100 sprint

        Ragnahawk – 800 run | 1300 sprint

        • So in this case Suzaku is miliseconds faster when not sprinting, but SECONDS slower while sprinting, making Ragnahawk able to cover significantly more distance overall, making Ragnahawk overall MUCH faster than Suzaku.

  5. About he fastest non-boss flying mount, actually its the Faleris not Ragnahawk, I have both and the flaeris is just obviously must faster and have slower stamina drain rate, but ragnahawk do have better damage boost for rider tho

  6. fenglope is by far the fastest mount in the game until maybe jetdragon. It’s dash ability when used off ledges will propel you hundreds of meters in just a few seconds

  7. Note that Swift (speed +20%) and nimble (speed+10%) stack, despite being two different ranks of the same perk. Presumably runner can stack with swift and nimble, but I haven’t seen that combo yet.

From my measurements, the speed benefit from speed traits seems very small, to the point that I wonder if it’s slightly bugged. Maybe the speed from traits only applies to base walking speed, so there’s less benefit from sprinting?

    • All Passsive Skills stack. I have a Ragnahawk with Swift, Runner, Nimble, and Musclehead. The speed skills definitely stack.

  8. I prefer Beacon to Ragnahawk, since the model doesn’t clip through the player character. The difference in speed is small enough not to bother me.

An alternative method of testing speed is to place a map marker in a flat area (desert for land mounts, ocean for aquatic and flying mounts), travel to that marker until distance reads 0 meters, pick a direction, travel while mounted for 2 minutes, measure distance from map marker to current location. This is a more repeatable experiment, especially if no sprinting is used (sprinting for multiple stamina bars introduces a small amount of user error).

AFAIK all mounts can sprint for a set period of time, about 22 seconds, independent of player stamina upgrades. I’m likely wrong, more testing needed.

Mounts unlocked at higher technology levels are usually (but not always) better.

Land mounts are best for navigating dungeons quickly, as flying mounts are too large for most doorways.

  9. Now this is the kinda thing I like to see! I really wish Movement Speed was a stat shown in our Pal’s tooltips, but this is the next best thing. Thank you for collecting all this data – far as I know the only thing faster than Ragnahawk is Jetragon.

    • As an update just for you, I did some testing of my own with a 10-tile long foundation! Swift Ragnahawk and Swift Faleris virtually share the same speed, as Faleris is (and this is likely a measuring issue on my end) maybe 4 milliseconds faster than Ragnahawk.
I think it’s fair to call them both the same speed.
