Peglin – Quick Guide to Fireball Event

Overanalysis on the Fireball

By Concentrication (and die).

I guess this is what I do now? make overanalyses? give me more ideas, I love writing these. anyways, here’s the actual overanalysis of the fireball event.

We all hate this event, right? Basically a -4 hp dead floor? Maybe you’re looking at it the wrong way though. Maybe the fireballs are actually good. Maybe the cost of them is worth the payout.

Is the problem the 6 hp cost? Is it the orbs themselves? Why do you not want this event? Do you just not understand it? Is it too much hp? Why is this event so bad?

The second option, leave (-4 hp), is the one that you probably take every time. You might think “not this again” or “a dead event again”, and that’s what I think too. I think that this event is unbalanced and needs to be changed. However, if it was left as it is right now, I think it’s fine. The event sucks, but it isn’t an always skip like most people say it is. Everything is situational in this game.

The other option, (+2 fireballs, -10 hp), is one that you might have taken once and then never again. These “fireballs” are actually infernorbs, and infernorbs are good at some stuff. For example, single target on them is pretty good, as a 5/9 statline is above average. They also have a tiny bit of aoe in the fact that they detonate bombs in one hit, which is sometimes useful. “But what about the self damage?”

The self damage is as helpful as it is harmful. The main thing is it’s blockable, which means it can be reduced by gloves/oboe, and a 1 damage 5/9 with pseudo aoe is pretty good. The reaction relics work fairly well with this too. And each class has a way of dealing with it. Balladin blocks it, Roundrel has dis card and needs early damage, Spinventor has healing/reduction slime, and Peglin has a lot of healing in their pool so the damage is negligible. This event is bad, but it isn’t always a skip, isn’t always a dead floor. Give the infernorbs a try sometimes, you might be surprised by them.

I hope the above information was helpful.
