Soul Knight Prequel – Getting Started Guide

How to Get Started

Introduction

Logging In

Soul Knight Prequel is an ARPG (Action Role Playing Game) created by the Chillyroom.

  • Playable in IOS, Android & Emulator.
  • Android and IOS are separate servers, which can be quite inconvenient if you’re planning on switching phones later or using an emulator.
  • Recommended to use a Chillyroom Login instead of Google and Apple.

Creating a Character

You will be met with a customization screen where you pick and choose your style. You will be granted a option to choose a class, later on you will be able to combine your class with another class.

The classes are divided into groups A and B, and you can only mix classes from the opposite group, an example would be Warrior with Aegis or Tempest Mage with Thief. You unlock your second class at level 5 and they combine at level 8.

Combined Classes

Feel free to pick whatever class strikes your fancy, but BE CAREFUL, once you select your primary and secondary class this choice CANNOT be undone.

Core Mechanics

Combat

SKP as many other ARPG are filled to the brim with mechanics, most are simple but there are some complex ones along the way; I’ll explain the simple mechanics of combat, your character’s Inventory and everything that’s relevant.

  • Being an Isometric RPG, movement and combat are pretty self-explanatory, you can walk, attack, charge your attack, use skills and “consumables”
  • Enemies can vary from stage to stage but they all share common traits; They sometimes drop gold and equipment that are related to the theme of that stage, they always drop exp though.

Inventory

In this section I’ll briefly explain every single tab of your Inventory, I won’t delve to deeply in each section though, since they are almost self-explanatory.

This is what it should look like most of the time. It’s worth noting that you only need to drag and drop items into the corresponding slot to equip then, you can equip 2 weapons at once thanks to weapon wheel, inventory space, gems and gold.

Here you’ll be able to check all of your stats even the more specific ones like crit chance or damage reduction, items.

Skill Tree & Apex Skill Tree

Skill Tree

When you reach level 5 in the skill tree menu an option will appear showing you the other classes that can be combined, in this example I chose Aegis, which at level 8 combines with Warrior to form the Warliege skill tree.

In order for you to progress and advance in the skill tree, points need to be spent on that specific tree, so that you can unlock the rest of the skills, the amount of points needed to unlock a skill can be easily viewed by clicking on the locked skill, those points are earned through leveling with each level granting you 2 skill points

The skill tree of your combined class works a little differently, to unlock its skills, you will need a specific amount of points in BOTH skill trees (Warrior and Aegis in the example), to see how much you will need just click on the locked skill and the description will tell you how many points you’ll need spend.

Apex Skill Tree

Apex as the name suggests is your apex, it’s where all your exp goes after you reach level 50, you can upgrade your apex up to 75 times and each upgrade grants you 1 point, which can be distributed in your 3 primary stats: STR, DEX and INT.

Each point in an apex attribute grants you 2 of the selected attribute (STR, DEX or INT) and every 5 points a different buff (As shown in the gif below).

Fatebounds

One of the most important mechanics in the game, the fatebounds system. Which is Key to your DPS.

Fatebounds are passives that come randomly and that all pieces of equipment have, a piece of equipment can have from 1 to 2 FBs (3 if you’re using a boss equipment, more on that later). for a fatebound to be active it needs 2 equals to it for 50% of the effect and 3 equals to its full effect. (one fatebound alone doesn’t do anything).

It’s based on these fatebounds that you’ll build your Character, mixing several of them and creating something unique. You can check your fatebounds in your inventory and to check their effects just click on them.

Home Sweet Home

Your House!

The first and not so important stop on our village tour is our own house, where we can put our collected cards and also change characters if you have more than one.

The Basement

At home we also have the basement, which is basically an area for you to play house building, I don’t like it very much but the game gives you several decoration options so you can let loose as much as you like, feel free to mess around with the options.

Basement will be unlocked after Ruined Citadel.

Farming

That’s right Stardew Lovers! This game has a farming feature!

  • You have 10 spaces of land where you can plant any fruit or vegetable you have in your collection. After planting, you’ll need to water them every time you complete a stage.
  • Each map has its own specific fruit and vegetable that will appear randomly during the stages, you just need to interact with the fruit to pick it up and it will go into your inventory. Once it’s in your inventory you can plant it directly in the ground or you can store it in the “Fruit Basket” (you can plant it even if your fruits/vegetables are in the Fruit Basket).
  • Every 2 stages you need to water your plants, after repeating the 6 stages the plants will be ready to be harvested, it is not obligatory to water your plants but if you don’t, they will take two more stages to grow.
  • Each ready-to-harvest plant can give you 2-3 of the same plant, making it possible to have as many as you want.

Shop

  • Store is your quick and easy to way to buy and sell resources such as gears and weapons.
  • It’s noted that its a way to get good gears with the right fate bounds.
  • For early-game it’s better to sell your gears if you need the gold right away.

Premium Shop

Chillstead Apparel

This is where you can let your wallet sing and your paycheck drip. The biggest and best clothing and decoration store in the world, Chillstead Apparel.

Furniture Gacha

If you want to build your dream house, you’ll need some luck in the “incredible” decoration roulette.

You can spend blue gems to spin a random decoration from a specific type of biome, and if you’re lucky you’ll be able to make your basement exactly as you want it.

Premium Pass

This is where you can purchase gems, and most specially the Premium Pass that can unlock Season Only Content such as Animancer Class for Season 0.

Merchants

Chest Merchant

He sells chests for keys; those keys can be acquired by doing daily quests. Chests can contain random Weapons, Armor and Accessories, each chest can contain upgrade materials too.

Card Merchant

He sells card packs for card vouchers; Those packs contain 5 cards of a chosen stage. You can buy vouchers with blue gems or by levelling up you Medallion.

(Not worth tho unless your far in the game).

Respec Merchant

He arrives when you conclude Ruined Citadel for the first time. He as the name suggest respec your Attributes being: Skill Points, Stats Points and Apex.

Gem Merchant

Same as Mewpuri, LITERALLY THE SAME. No one in the family likes him for obvious reasons…

(God man look at that smirk…)

Pets

Pets & Pet Gear

Your pet is sure to be your best friend during your adventures, they have many uses besides being cute, they can: attack, defend you, collect gold, upgrade bits and cards too.

Pet Gear

The only pet gear available is the grim howl set which grants the user extra crit rate percentage

It’s important to notice that pets have 3 behaviors: Defensive, Loot, Aggressive, and those can be changed at will (personal recommendation would be to leave it at loot mode). As you take your pets on your journeys, they’ll grow to like you more and more, which makes their skills stronger and also makes room for passives.

Bell Merchant

Bell Merchant is the NPC responsible for improving and customizing your pet, as well as making it possible to obtain new ones, unfortunately it’s through GACHA, which I personally dislike but hey, if you’re gambling addicted you might as well enjoy this hellish thing.

Egg Shop

You can get eggs from your medallion rewards and you can also exchange blue gems for eggs at the Mewpuri.

Pet Stats and Skills

Your pets have specific stats and traits which vary depending on the pet. You also have skills that are best for your pets.

Pet Affection and Food

Your pet has an affection system, each heart it wins releases a skill tree slot of its own, the maximum limit being 5, those slots increases as you give it a fruit it likes and take it along on adventures, we have a table with what each pet likes to eat.

Remember to treat your pet well kids, they are beings of pure cuteness AND they’re super useful!

Alchemy and Potions

Alchemist

Alchemist stereotype character, he’s super useful for card farming and for boosting some stats for a limited period of time.

Unlocking the Alchemist

To unlock the alchemist you’ll need to clear Forest of Tranquility and Re clear it a second time, he’ll be at the outpost on your second run, talk to him and he’s going to ask you for some fruits specifically:

What? and Why?

Once you’ve given him these things, he’ll go to your town and start helping you with potions. He can mix 3 identical fruits to make a super potion that doubles the chance of dropping monster cards for 15 minutes. Or mix random things to give you some specific buffs, he has a list in his shop, so you won’t get lost.

Juices

The first potion is used to buff the spawn chances of any cards. While the second one is used to buff a specific stat. The recipes are shown to you by the alchemist. If you are still confused on where to find these fruits check out:

Tristan The Robot

Recycling with Tristan

Collecting With Tristan

Tristan can be found at first when progressing through the story in Arid Sand, and after completing the stage he’ll be offering his services.

What Services Does He Provide?

Every time during your adventures when a loot is dropped and you didn’t pick it up, Tristan will, and you’ll be able to buy it from his “Store”.

It’s worth noting that he doesn’t have infinite space and once all slots are filled in, he’ll prioritize higher quality gear, discarding lower quality ones.

Buy Back or Dismantle

Just drag the item you want into your inventory and you’ll be able to buy it. Otherwise, use “Quick” and it will process all the items into fragments (dismantling), which are used for upgrading our gear.

I hope the above information was helpful. Happy gaming!
